Discourse Function Of “V Zhe” Clause In Narrative Texts And Strategies Of Teaching Chinese As A Foreign Language

This paper takes the "V Zhe" clause in oral Chinese narrative as the research object,adopts discourse-functional perspective,guided by the functionalist view of grammar,and takes natural oral conversation as the corpus to analyze the discourse function of "V Zhe" clauses.On this basis,it proposes teaching strategies of "V Zhe" clause in intermediate and advanced oral Chinese lessons as a foreign language.The paper is divided into four chapters.Chapter one defines the types of verbs before "zhe" and the basic features of "V zhe" in clauses.According to the situation types,the pre-zhe verbs can be divided into six categories: existence verbs,cognition verbs,action verbs,location-location verbs,location-location verbs and instantaneous verbs."V Zhe" adopts a fragmented and continuous perspective of observation for the internal actions,so that the structure of "V Zhe" has the common characteristics of homogeneous time structure,continuity and non-integrity in clauses.The second chapter discusses the textual dependency of "V Zhe" clauses and describes the means of sentence-completing in the discourse.The characteristics of "V zhe" limit the ability of "V zhe" clauses to complete the sentence,so that it has discourse dependency in semantic expression and needs to co-appear with the sentences which preceding or following "V zhe" clauses to express the complete communicative information.The third chapter analyzes the background function of "V Zhe" clauses through information structure,topic structure and pragmatic parameters.The "V Zhe" clause has the characteristics of diverse information attributes and flexible linear sequence position.It has the tendency to make comments on the topic and narrate,describe and explain the theme,thus contributing to the background position of the "V Zhe" clause in the discourse.The last chapter puts forward teaching strategies of Chinese as a foreign language.The teacher should take the "Use-Based" teaching concept as the guidance,and carry out situational interpretation and teaching of "V Zhe" clauses in the class,so that Chinese learners can use "V Zhe" clauses in the real environment of verbal communication.Based on the interaction and communication process of conversation participants,this paper makes an empirical study and applies the practice rules of "V Zhe " clauses in actual oral conversation to oral Chinese teaching as a foreign language,so as to help students improve their communicative competence.
