| Since Cheng Hao and Cheng Yi put forward the concept of "writing is harmful to Tao",it has often been criticized by later literary and critical circles, thinking that it completely negates the aesthetic value of literature, thus negating all the ideas of Cheng Hao and Cheng Yi’s literary theory.Of course, there are many scholars who have positive voices, but the true connotation of Cheng Hao and Cheng Yi’s literary theory has not been restored, and it still has no reasonable and fair historical position. As a Neo-Confucianism scholar in the Northern Song Dynasty,Cheng Hao and Cheng Yi’s literary thoughts are inevitably influenced and infiltrated by Neo-Confucianism,and their literary thoughts are inevitably branded with the times and have the rationality of existence.Under this premise, this paper will combine two-way Neo-Confucianism with literary thought, and analyzes the influence of Neo-Confucianism on their literary thought from the background and connotation of the occurrence of Neo-Confucianism,and finally looks at the influence and value of Neo-Confucianism through Zhu Xi’s literary theory.Based on the above considerations, the structure and content of this paper are as follows:The first chapter mainly analyzes the background and specific connotation of Cheng Hao and Cheng Yi’s Neo-Confucianism.On the one hand,it analyzes how Cheng Hao and Cheng Yi constructed their own Neo-Confucianism in the process of opposing the invasion of Buddhism and promoting the popularization of Confucianism, and criticizing Wang Anshi’s new academic theory. On the other hand, from the main connotation of Neo-Confucianism,that is,from the ontology of Neo-Confucianism,the "Tiyong" thinking of Neo-Confucianism,the Kung Fu theory of Neo-Confucianism and the theory of Neo-Confucianism realm,we can have a clearer, more comprehensive and deeper understanding of Cheng Hao and Cheng Yi’s Neo-Confucianism.The second chapter focuses on a complete and comprehensive analysis of the "writing is harmful to Taoism" put forward by Cheng Hao and Cheng Yi,especially Cheng Yi,that is,a concrete analysis of the relationship between literature and Taoism of Cheng Hao and Cheng Yi.The relationship between literature and Taoism has been discussed since ancient times,Cheng Hao and Cheng Yi’s "writing is harmful to Taoism" is one of them."Writing is harmful to Taoism" does not appear out of thin air. From the opposition of the ancient prose movement to parallel prose in the early Song Dynasty,to the opposition between Cheng Yi and Su Shi under the struggle of the Luoshu Party, and the influence of "Tiyong" thinking,it can be seen that Cheng Hao and Cheng Yi ’s theory of "writing is harmful to Taoism" is not illusory, but has a practical background.Whether it is "articles cannot be written easily","saving feelings with reason","virtuous people must have words" or "meteorology" as the aesthetic ideal of the article,it shows that Cheng Hao and Cheng Yi are not against the existence of writing, but only against the existence of the article without Tao.The third chapter discusses the proposition of "Xing" in the Book of Songs by Cheng Hao and Cheng Yi.The emergence of Cheng Hao and Cheng Yi’s neo-Confucianism is an exegesis against the annotation system of Confucian classics in Han Dynasty, and they are facing the crisis of classical hermeneutics,so they begin to find another way to explain their own meaning and interpret the classics by their own will on the basis of the meaning of classics, thus getting rid of the writing attitude of "telling without doing" by Han Confucianism. This is clearly reflected in the interpretation of "Xing" in The Book of Songs, which is to arouse people’s kindness and achieve the realm of unity with reason."Xing" is related to many reading methods, such as "familiar reading","chanting" and "experience",especially "experience".However,"experience" is not an easy task.It requires both the focus on respect and the need to turn the text into the object of my thinking and make efforts mentally.Only when we truly appreciate the meaning in the poem can we be complacent."Self-satisfaction" is actually self-satisfaction with Tao,and the foothold of "Xing" lies in self-satisfaction and the pursuit of Tao itself from beginning to end.The fourth chapter focuses on Zhu Xi’s acceptance and development of Cheng Hao and Cheng Yi’s literary theories,The development of Cheng Hao and Cheng Yi’s literary theory to Zhu Xi can be said to have reached a new height, which is logically self-consistent and harmonious. As a Neo-Confucianism scholar,Zhu Xi’s literary theory is bound to be influenced by his Neo-Confucianism thought, and most of his Neo-Confucianism thought comes from Cheng Hao and Cheng Yi’s influence. Therefore, this chapter analyzes the influence on Zhu Xi’s literary view from four aspects of Neo-Confucianism,namely,ontology,theory of mind, theory of Kung fu and theory of realm, namely, the literary view of "literature flows out of Tao",the emphasis on literary emotion in "feeling things and feelings",the composition view that writing must be poor first and the poetic aesthetic ideal of pursuing "meteorological approach to Tao",in order to see the deep influence of Zhu Xi’s Neo-Confucianism on his literary thought, and to see the value of Cheng Hao and Cheng Yi’s literary theory. It can be said that without the emergence of Cheng Hao and Cheng Yi’s literary theory, the systematic construction of Zhu Xi’s literary theory would not be produced. |
