This paper will discuss Cheng Yi’s Thought of "Xiu Qi Zhi Ping" from the perspectives of the Blending of Yi-learning and Neo-Confucianism.The most frequently mentioned thing in Cheng Yi’s life is "Xiu Qi Zhi Ping"(cultivating one’s character, regulating the family, governing the country, and making the world peaceful). He wrote this book during the most difficult period of his life.In this book,he viewed things as a Confucian scholar. In this book,he proposed ways for people to recognize and realize their self-worth.Believing that people should first improve their morality. After improving one’s moral cultivation, apply knowledge to handling social affairs. In Confucianism, this is known as"cultivating one’s character, regulating the family, governing the country, and making the world peaceful".It is also considered a saint in the field of thought and a capable and moral person in the field of society. This is’ Nei Sheng ’and’ Wai Wang. But Cheng Yi did not mention these two words because they belong to Taoist thought.Cheng Yi listed every step of moral practice, making it clearer for people to understand how to do it.Cheng Yi’s demands for the monarch and others,as well as his own moral cultivation and daily behavior, are to cultivate one’s character, unify the family, govern the country, and make the world peaceful. He expressed his worldview, ontological theory, human nature theory, and theories about moral cultivation through the creation of this book. This book also contains his views on society and methods of governing the country. The knowledge he acquired from moral practice and experience wrote into this book. This paper will discuss the Neo-Confucianism and Yi-learning in this book together. The first chapter discusses from four aspects:ontology theory, human nature theory, ritual system, and "Tian Ren Zhi Dao".Discuss the impact of these three contents on"cultivating one’s character, regulating one’s family, and governing the country"(Xiu Qi Zhi Ping). The first section elaborates on the theoretical basis of Cheng Yi’s thought of "Xiu Qi Zhi Ping".Buddhism and Taoism posed a threat to Confucianism.Cheng Yi and his brother attempted to counterattack with the theory of "Tian Li".Heavenly "Tian Li" can connect Tian and Ren.It can guide people’s moral behavior. The second section elaborates on the theory of human nature theory.Distinguished the three concepts of"Tian Ming Zhi Wei Xing","Suo Bing Zhi Xing" and "Cai".The former originates from "Tian Li".The second one is the "Tian Li" that I have received."Cai" is influenced by "Qi",so there are good and bad.Part Three:ritual system.Seeking the physical basis for the ritual system.Seeking the Basis of Human Nature Theory for the Ritual System."Li" is often used as an external form. So,it is necessary to internalize "Li" as a person’s conscious consciousness. Also discussed the function of punishment. The fourth section discusses the "Tian Ren Zhi Dao".This book reflects the integration of Cheng Yi’s Yilearning and Neo-Confucianism.The fourth part will discuss from five aspects. This chapter argues through the above points that it is the correct method for people to practice morality based on "Tian Li".The second chapter discusses "De" and "Cai".Cheng Yi often uses morality and talent to explain the good or bad luck of a divination."Gua De" originates from the "Si De"."Gua De" indicates the development trend and outcome of the hexagram("Gua")."Gua Cai" originates from the "Tuan Zhuan".It explains why this hexagram obtains auspiciousness or inauspiciousness."Zhou Yi Cheng Shi Zhuan" uses "Gua Cai" to refer to people’s qualities. These good qualities are beneficial to people’s lives. The third section elaborates on the "De" and "Cai" of "Yao"."De" generally refers to good quality."Cai" and "Zhi" sometimes refer to good quality, and sometimes refer to bad quality. Both "De" and "Cai" can be helpful for people’s practical life.People should exercise a proactive awareness in their daily lives. The third chapter discusses from two aspects:timing and location.Cheng Yi values the impact of timing and location on people, believing that people need to take action based on timing and their own location. The use of the concept of "Shi" to annotate the Book of Changes reflects the flexibility and broad ideological connotations."Wei"refers to the six positions in a hexagram("Gua").Six positions have different meanings. The first and sixth positions represent the beginning and end of the development of things. The second and fifth positions represent the character of having a "Zhong"character. The third and fourth positions represent a period of danger or change.People should grasp the meanings represented by these positions well in order to prevent bad things from happening. The last section discusses the awareness of crisis.People should be aware of the danger and take the initiative to solve it.Chapter 4 emphasizes that people and all things should interact with each other with an honest mentality.Yin and Yang interact with each other in the most sincere way. That’s why all things and people are born.People can interact with each other with honesty, and family and country can be harmonious.People can interact with others with sincere emotions, and the entire world can be harmonious.People and other creatures in nature interact with each other with honesty, and they will coexist harmoniously with nature.Chapter 5 discusses the relationship between "Li" and desire.Desires that conform to "Tian Li" are harmless.Desire that does not conform to natural principles can lead to harm. This is one of the fundamental viewpoints of Cheng Yi.He believed that human desires arise from the need for survival."Feng Yang" appears in "Zhou Yi Cheng Shi Zhuan".This word is used to annotate desire.Excessive desire can affect one’s moral cultivation,so one should appropriately restrain their own desires.People’s excessive desires can harm society,so it is very important to appropriately curb desires for social harmony.Chapter 6 cites many hexagrams and line(Gua and Yao)as examples.Cheng Yi elucidates the idea of "Xiu Qi Zhi Ping" by commenting on the Book of Changes.Chapter 7 elaborates on the concept of "Xiu Qi Zhi Ping" through the content of hexagrams. This paper will discuss from the above aspects.
