Building Chinese Science Fiction

The National Science Conference in 1978 reaffirmed the "four modernization" and revived science fiction literature,and science fiction novelists in this period created many popular science fiction works,such as Yonglie Ye’s PHS Odyssey,Enzheng Tong ’s Death on Coral Island,Wenguang Zheng’s Star Camp,etc.,these science fiction works jointly forged the "golden age" of science fiction in the new period.However,science fiction,as an imported product,has the shadow of Western science fiction to a certain extent,and the study of Chinese science fiction literature,especially the "Chinese characteristics" revealed in Chinese science fiction literature,is easy to ignore.This paper attempts to take the science fiction novel of the new period of the "golden age" as the research object,and explore the Chinese-style science fiction writing contained in the works of this period according to the three parallel dimensions of time,space and man and machine,such as the science fiction expression that is compatible with the new era era,to understand the romantic "literary imagination" to depict modern China,and discover the social mission of Chinese science fiction to popularize education and build a modern national picture.This paper adopts the method of close reading of texts and empirical literature,combines internal research with external research,takes the new period science fiction novel of the "golden age" as the research object,synthesizes the literary trend of the new period,the characteristics of science fiction literature,the text of science fiction in the new period and other aspects,analyzes the characteristics of science fiction literature in the new period,analyzes its differences from other literature,and reveals the Chinese characteristics of science fiction in the new period.According to the three parallel dimensions of time,space,and man and machine,this paper explores the Chinese science fiction writing contained in the works of this period,such as the science fiction expression that is compatible with the new era,to appreciate the social mission of Chinese science fiction to popularize education and build a modern national picture.The text is divided into three parts: the first chapter establishes a time coordinate system and studies the form of time in science fiction in the new period.Human beings ride on the "time machine" to shuttle through the time stages before and after the new era,projecting the reality of the past into the imagination of the future,presenting the reproducibility of China’s new period.Give play to the role of "two sides of the same body" of time: on the one hand,review the past history and reconstruct the "unreasonable" expressions contained in history;On the other hand,fantasize about the future of the new era,forming a modern thumbnail of Chinese science fiction.The second chapter aims to explore the spatial construction of science fiction in the new era.Taking "science fiction space" as the main entry point,the spatial form of science fiction in the new era is divided into two dimensions: the inner space of the earth and the outer space of the earth,and explores the relationship between the science fiction space shaped in the novel and the real social space,so as to show the vision of social transformation carried by the grand narrative in science fiction.Chapter 3 focuses on the ethical relationship between man and machine in science fiction.Starting from the identity consciousness of intellectuals in the new era,this chapter tells humanism from the perspective of science fiction,while establishing its own status as "human",explores the identity positioning of humans and robots in participating in social life,as well as the ethical relationship between robots and humans,and considers the complexity of human-machine ethics in science fiction.
