In the history of modern and contemporary Chinese literature,Shao Quanlin is a very important figure. He is one of the literary and artistic workers who made contributions to the revolutionary cultural cause of China in the 20 th century, and is also a literary theorist, writer and leader of the Party’s literary and artistic work of the proletariat.Shao Quanlin’s contribution to literary and artistic work is multifaceted, and his literary and artistic creation is representative of the times. At present, the academic circles have not paid enough attention to Shao Quanlin’s research. The current research is more focused on the study of Shao Quanlin’s overall literary thoughts, leaving a large space for the study of Shao Quanlin’s novel view. Therefore, this paper takes Shao Quanlin’s novel view as the main object to study. The paper is divided into three parts. The first part analyzes Shao Quanlin’s view of novel language from two aspects:dialect use and writing.Shao Quanlin pointed out that in general literary creation, the use and selection of dialects is very important.A writer should try to collect and be familiar with local dialects. In addition,he believes that words are the reflection of real life,so what writers need is to describe the reality of reality and write the living things with living words to create beautiful works. The second part analyzes Shao Quanlin’s concept of novel content from three aspects:the choice and treatment of themes, the deepening of realism, and the theory of intermediate characters.Shao Quanlin believes that the theme of the work is generally absorbed from life, and the treatment of the theme should be based on the principle of the most economical and powerful to show the theme and central idea of the work.In addition,at the "Symposium on the Creation of Rural Short Stories" in Dalian,Shao Quanlin put forward the "theory of deepening realism" and the "theory of intermediate characters".He pointed out that realism is the basis of creation, and writers’ creation should go deep into life, the masses, and the depths; It is also mentioned that in the works of the 1960 s,there are relatively few characters who reflect the middle state on the whole, while the vast majority of all strata are middle,so it is very important to describe them, and the contradictions are often concentrated on these people. The third part analyzes Shao Quanlin’s novel values from three aspects: popularity, authenticity and class. In Shao Quanlin’s view, literary and artistic creation needs to be popularized, first of all,it requires the popularization of thoughts and feelings, and then it can talk about the popularization of forms. He believed that the tendency of "the unification of politics and art" was undoubtedly correct. At the time of the victory of the War of Resistance, artists should not be asked to stand clearly on the position of the people and the progressive class. He also mentioned that truth is a basic condition of literature and art,and the writer’s own true feeling is the most important condition of creation.Only when the authenticity of literature and art is subject to class nature, can we pursue the authenticity of independent literature and art.Looking at Shao Quanlin’s novel view,we can clearly feel that Shao Quanlin,as one of the long-term leaders of our party’s literary and artistic work, had a deep understanding of novels, which had a strong time leading and realistic pertinence at that time, and made his own contribution to the creation of novels during the Anti-Japanese War and since the New China.
