Fenyang, located in the middle of Shanxi Province,is a transportation node from Jinzhong to Shaanxi,Inner Mongolia,Gansu and other places. It has been operating here since Cao Wei moved to the site, and is known as "Little Beijing".It was called Guayan County in the early Qin Dynasty,Zishi County in the Qin and Han Dynasties,Xicheng County later,Xihe County in the Tang Dynasty, and Fenyang County in the Ming,Qing, and Republic of China.Fenyang has been operating here for thousands of years, and formed an urban form of "five cities standing side by side" in the Ming Dynasty. In the Ming Dynasty, the two feudatories settled and upgraded the prefecture into the government, which also changed the regional structure of Fenyang City.Between the city passes, there was a multi-party interaction between the official and the business, and the development of the business could not be separated from its good traffic location.Because of this,Fenyang City is a regional central city that can not be ignored in history,no matter for the cities in Jinzhong area or for Shanxi, which is of great significance for research. Therefore, this paper takes Fenyang City as the research object,Ming,Qing and the Republic of China as the research period, from the perspective of historical geography, combined with the local chronicles of the Ming and Qing Dynasties and the documents of the Republic of China, discusses the geographical basis, urban construction, regional structure and its changes, and urban water use of Fenyang City.By analyzing the factors and processes of the rise and development of Fenyang City,we can see the local participation,so as to enter the city and see the character of Fenyang City in different times,And its interaction with local history. The full text is divided into four chapters:The first chapter discusses the geographical and historical basis of the rise and development of Fenyang City in this area from three aspects: natural geographical characteristics, evolution and traffic location characteristics. The second chapter discusses the construction history of Fenyang city, including the construction of the city wall and the construction of the main buildings in the city.Chapter three: The regional structure of Fenyang in Ming,Qing and Republic of China is analyzed in different periods. The fourth chapter discusses the urban water use of Fenyang, which is divided into domestic water use and landscape water use.
