Analysis Of The Creative Characteristics And Performance Of Two Art Songs By Renaldo Hahn

As one of the representative figures of the French romantic music school in the late 19 th century and early 20 th century,Reynaldo Hahn was unique in the boom of impressionist music at that time.His music field involved a wide range,and he created many music works with personal characteristics in his life,among which the most representative is his art songs.The two art songs studied in this paper,"Si Mes Vers Avaient Des Ailes" and "A Chloris",are representative works of Hahn in the early and middle stages of his creation,which reflect the gradual maturity of Hahn’s music creation.So far,many famous singers have performed these two art songs in concerts,which have high artistic value.This paper uses literature discovery,literature research,descriptive research and other research methods to conduct in-depth research on Hahn and his two art songs,mainly focusing on the singing analysis of the songs.The article is divided into five parts.The first part mainly expounds the reason for the topic selection and the purpose of the research.And relevant literature has been sorted and itergrated,on this basis to do a review of the research status of the subject.In the second part,the author gives an overview of Hahn and his general music style after sorting out and studying relevant literature,thus having a general understanding of the composer’s own experience and personal music style.In the third part,the author starts from the study of the poetic text and musical surface,and deeply analyzes the characteristics of song creation.And the analysis of creative characteristics is mainly divided into four points,which are lyric text,musical structure,melody characteristics and piano accompaniment,and strive to have a deeper understanding of each component of the song,so as to prepare for a more perfect interpretation of the song.In the fourth part,I enter into the key part of this study--singing analysis,the first is the pronunciation of French lyrics.No matter singing the songs of any country or nation,language is its essence.Without the composition of language,it can only be the existence of pure music.Secondly,it analyzes the singing points and skills of breathing,voice intensity and vocal area,and gives some corresponding training methods.In the fifth part,by studying and sorting out the literature on singing skills,combining with my own learning experience and the guidance and advice given by teachers,the author summarized the key and difficult points in singing and the solutions to the singing skills involved,and expounded my perception and thinking when learning these two art songs.I hope I can provide a valuable reference for more performers who sing Hahn’s art songs by virtue of my humble strength.
