Talking About My Practice And Retlection On The Creation Of Watermark Prints

China is the birthplace of watermark printmaking,and the development of watermark printmaking has undergone significant changes in its creative methods from ancient times to modern times.This article is based on my practice and reflection on watermark printmaking,using the "Monologue" watermark printmaking series as an example to discuss its creative process,including: conception,drafting,copying,plate making,trial printing,organizing tool materials,color matching,formal printing,and closing work.It aims to provide readers who study watermark printmaking across majors with practical watermark printmaking solutions and experience in integrating different professional techniques,This article innovates in the study of the "water flavor" expression of watermark printmaking,combining watermark printing techniques with watercolor wet drawing techniques.It also studies the creation of self portrait themes in the "Monologue" watermark printmaking series,exploring the development of self portrait and the emotional expression of self portrait themed works,mapping personal emotions to the emotions and living conditions of social minorities.The paper is a summary of the author’s three years of graduate studies,hoping to enrich the textual materials for watermark printmaking creation through creative practical experience and innovation,and contribute to the diversified development of watermark printmaking.
