| Animation is an important form of visual art, characterized by the ability to express various emotions, actions, and scenes through dynamic images. In animation, exaggeration and deformation are common artistic techniques. This article aims to explore the application of exaggeration and deformation in animation from multiple perspectives, trying to explore the application rules, practical functions, aesthetic values, etc.of exaggeration and deformation in animation, confirm the important position of exaggeration and deformation in animation creation.Research the exaggeration and deformation in animation performance from the perspective of basic theory.By collecting relevant information, using literature research methods, learn theoretical knowledge about exaggeration and deformation in animation performance, and then classify exaggeration and deformation into several types:exaggeration and deformation in elastic motion, exaggeration and deformation in inertial motion, exaggeration and deformation in action strength, exaggeration and deformation in time, and exaggeration and deformation in preparatory action;Summarize the role of exaggeration and deformation in animation through case studies: bringing humor and fun to the film, rendering character emotions, highlighting character personalities, expressing inner activities, etc. It can also enhance expressiveness, enhance visual impact, promote plot development, and create empathy with the audience.Focusing on the analysis of animated films from various countries, using comparative analysis method, this study explores the application of exaggeration and deformation in animation performances from Chinese,Japanese,American, and French animated films, and summarizes the unique characteristics of each country.Returning to the application of exaggeration and deformation in graduation short films, through case analysis method, this article discusses how to use exaggeration and deformation techniques in short films from three aspects: work conception, facial expressions, and body movements, achieving a combination of theory and practice. This article consolidates and improves two-dimensional technology through the production of the animated short film "Sleep in Bed" and explores the role of animation performance through the exaggeration and deformation of character movements.Relying on the accumulation of real life, through the self immersive performance of animators,it emphasizes what the characters are doing and what they want to do,increasing the animation’s ability to entertain and inspire the audience, and enabling viewers to resonate with the characters. |
