On January 1,2020,the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs issued a 10-year ban on fishing in the Yangtze River Basin. This is not only a strong measure against the deterioration of the Yangtze River ecology year by year, but also a strong practice of the development concept of "lucid waters and lush mountains are valuable assets." More than two years have passed.Whether the fishing ban and various measures have produced results is a matter of close concern to the country and its people.Compared with other types of documentary, participatory documentary requires the creator to acknowledge the existence of the lens and actively intervene in the program. The filmmaker himself is the participant and guides the progress of the program through visiting, observing, interviewing and interacting.Based on a review of the current types and production methods of participatory documentary programs, this paper analyzes the involvement of participatory documentary programs and the creation of sound language.Combined with the author’s graduation project "Returning Fish to Dongting Lake",this paper expounds the narrative structure, shooting objects, creative angles and creation of sound language.
