| Although there was once a time when the function of grammar was totally ignored,most scholars at home and abroad have recognized the importance of grammar in modern English teaching.Nowadays,the key points of grammar research is "how to teach" grammar.With the development of the new curriculum reform,English grammar teaching in junior middle schools has taken great changes.Based on the National English Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022)and Larsen-Freeman’s Three-Dimension Dynamic Grammar View,the paper takes practical measure to study the current situation of English grammar teaching in junior high school under Three-Dimension Dynamic Grammar View.The research questions include: 1)What’s the current situation of English grammar form teaching in junior high school? 2)What’s the current situation of English grammar meaning teaching in junior high school? 3)What’s the current situation of grammar use in English class in junior high school? The author uses the instruments of observation to collect data.The author observed 56 junior high school lessons on the national primary and secondary smart education platform.The teaching material of the courses wass the version of Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press.After observation,the author used descriptive analysis to do data analysis.At the same time the author noted down some problems when observing,so that some suggestions could be put forward.The main findings of this research can be summarized in the following: 1)The teaching of English grammar forms is still widely paid attention to.Meanwhile,the teaching methods of English grammar forms have changed from the original indoctrination and imparting to the current contextual teaching method,inductive and guided-discovery method.But the use of deductive method still accounts for about a third,far more than which is needed in the classroom.2)Meaning teaching of grammar has received widespread attention in modern classes,but there are still 20% of classes that do not involve meaning teaching.Secondly,the teaching method of grammatical meaning need to be paid attention to.3)In junior high school grammar class,the design and implementation of practice activities have completely got rid of the traditional model that was only based on mechanical exercises.Instead,both a variety of mechanical exercises and free exercises are adopted.Moreover,the specific practice types are also rich and varied,in line with the new teaching concept and the spirit of the new curriculum standard,and truly cultivate students’ pragmatic ability.This research also has some implications for English teachers in junior high school.Firstly,the teaching concept of some teachers needs to be improved.Although the positive effect of inductive method and guided-discovery method has been widely recognized,some teachers still adopt deductive method,which they think is more convenient and direct for their teaching.In the second place,teachers should set up the correct view of textbooks.Teachers should not over-rely on teaching materials.but teaching with textbooks.Thirdly,grammar meaning teaching should be emphasized,and the methods of meaning teaching need to be explored.Lastly,As a teacher,they need to learn from both those good points and bad points from the research Teachers who do a good job should keep it up.Teachers who don’t do a good job can take excellent courses as a benchmark and strive to improve and keep pace with the goal. |
