| This research study explores the impact of cultural distance on trade in cultural products between China and Sri Lanka.Cultural products include various goods and services that embody and convey cultural values,such as music,film,literature,art and crafts.Cultural distance derives from cultural and social theories and emphasizes differences between cultures in terms of language,religion,customs,traditions and values.The main purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of cultural distance on bilateral trade in cultural products between China and Sri Lanka.Regression analysis is used to examine the relationship between cultural distance and trade while also considering other variables such as GDP and geographical distance.Research results suggest that cultural distance has a significant and negative impact on trade in cultural products between China and Sri Lanka.The results highlight the challenges posed by differences in language,religion and customs,which are barriers to trade.To improve trade in cultural commodities between China and Sri Lanka,it is important to bridge cultural gaps,reduce trade barriers,and promote cultural diversity through increased cultural exchanges.These findings have important policy implications for promoting bilateral cultural trade and promoting mutual understanding and appreciation between the two countries.By removing cultural barriers,the two countries can open up opportunities for cross-cultural cooperation in the areas of greater cultural exchange,economic growth and cultural products. |
