| Due to the accelerated modernization and the neglect of traditional culture in the past, many intangible cultural heritages are on the verge of extinction. With the introduction of the Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage and the Law of the People’s Republic of China on Intangible Cultural Heritage, the protection of intangible cultural heritage in China has become more and more important and has been gradually put on the agenda, which has played a guiding role in the inheritance and development of intangible cultural heritage and has gradually returned to the public in various ways.As a traditional theater art among intangible cultural heritage items, shadow puppet plays have a long history and have left a strong and colorful mark in traditional theater art.Wangkui shadow puppet and Longjiang shadow puppet are the most representative shadow puppets in Heilongjiang province, which have witnessed and participated in the history of this black land from its roots to its development through many histories, and were listed as national sub-material cultural heritage in 2008 and 2011 respectively. However, under the influence of the general environment, they inevitably face the crisis of loss.Since the basic activities of Wangkui and Longjiang shadows are located in Wangkui County and Harbin City respectively, and their survival status is different,it is important to analyze the theories of cultural ecology to find a suitable path for the development of both.First, this study provides a multidimensional overview of the historical origins of Wangkui and Longjiang shadow puppets, exploring the origins of Wangkui and Longjiang shadow puppets under the influence of historical processes and the process of their taking root in this black land, and evolving into a unique regional culture under the environment of cultural identity, eventually forming a unique artistic style.Secondly, with the accelerated modernization process, the original cultural ecology has changed, and the recognition and identity of Wangkui and Longjiang shadow puppets have been decreasing, and with the decreasing number of appreciative subjects, this traditional theatrical art is gradually dying and on the verge of being lost.Although the state attaches more and more importance to traditional culture, and Wangkui and Longjiang shadow puppets are listed as national intangible cultural heritage projects and gradually regained vitality, the inheritance situation is still not optimistic.Since Wangkui and Longjiang shadow puppets are located in different regions and have different cultural development, this paper analyzes the survival status of Wangkui shadow puppets and Longjiang shadow puppets in terms of the main body of protection, cultural soil and the main body of inheritance.Again, the different areas of basic activities have an impact on the continuity of the culture to a certain extent. This paper uses cultural ecology to analyze the factors inherent in the uneven development of Wangkui shadow puppets and Longjiang shadow puppets, and combines technology and practical factors to find a suitable path for the continuation of the two shadow puppets,so that traditional culture can continue. Both Wangkui shadow puppets and Longjiang shadow puppets have high spiritual, cultural, and aesthetic values, and are unique and non-renewable.While using the perspective of cultural ecology to find strategies and countermeasures for effective balanced development in different urban and rural environments,we should also pay attention to the impact of Wangkui shadow puppets and Longjiang shadow puppets on the local culture. While developing with the times,Wangkui and Longjiang shadow puppets should also focus on preserving the original culture, finding a balance between cultural heritage and cultural innovation, opening up new paths to adapt to the development of the times, maintaining a living heritage, and achieving cultural progress. |
