The Study Of The Meaning Of The Motion Verbs In GuoYu

Guoyu(国语)is an important book in the pre Qin period,which is mainly used to record language and is an important language material for studying ancient Chinese.This paper takes the motion verbs in it as the research object,uses the traditional exegetics method for reference,inherits the modern semantics theory,inspects the original meaning and extended meaning of each motion verb,and explores its semantic development.By analyzing the etymology of glyphs and conjunctions,we can further sort out their semantic features and make semantic discrimination accordingly.This can enrich vocabulary learning in the book,explore the use characteristics and subtle differences of motion verbs,so as to better understand Guoyu(国语).This paper is divided into six parts:The first part:Introduction.First of all,it,from two aspects,introduces the origin and value of the topic:the corpus of Guoyu(国语)and the research value of motion verbs;Secondly,a review of the research object and current situation is conducted from the perspectives of the definition and classification of motion verbs,as well as the semantic exploration methods,and vocabulary research in Guoyu(国语).Finally,the research ideas and methods of this paper are explained.The second part:Motion verbs of leaving category.It mainly studies four types of motion verbs,namely,"going out""escaping""retreating"and"moving"and so on.The research ideas are as follows:First,the use of motion verbs in Guoyu(国语)and other pre Qin classics should be sorted out;Secondly,the character form,extended meaning column and etymology analysis are used to extract word meaning features;Finally,combined with the use cases in Guoyu(国语)and other pre Qin classics,this paper examines the collocation of motion verbs and the characteristics of antonyms,and further analyzes the specific differences of each member.The third part: Reach motion verbs.This paper mainly studies eight types of motion verbs,namely,"reaching" "going" "welcoming and seeing off","entering" "defecting" "returning" "ascending" and "descending".The semantic characteristics of 32 verbs,such as "get to" "reach" "arrive" "access" are extracted respectively,and their subtle differences are analyzed.The fourth part: Follow the motion verbs.This paper mainly studies the two types of motion verbs,namely "chasing" and "following",and extracts the semantic features of the four words "chasing and following" to differentiate these words.The fifth part: Verbs of transitive motion.This paper mainly studies the meaning and usage of the eight motion verbs of "pass" "go through" "go by through" "course" "transit" "along" "tracing",through two types of motion verbs of "going through" and "along meaning",and differentiates and analyzes these words.The sixth part:Conclusion.It briefly summarizes the characteristics of motion verbs in Guoyu(国语).It also presents the semantic characteristics of four types of verbs in tabular form,points out the differences between the same kind of motion verbs,and concisely realizes the comparison of motion verbs.
