The Analysis Creative Approach And Performance Skills Of Zivkovic Marimba ILIJAS

ILIJAS is an excellent solo work created for marimba by the renowned Serbian composer and percussionist Nebojsa Jovan Zivkovic.It is a work of great research value and performance value because of its richness and variety of technique and its profound musical connotations.Including the handling of rocking rolls,the independent coordination of both hands,the use of free rhythm.It reflects the thinking and perception of many composers about the war.It is also the work I played in the mid-term concert.The paper begins with a brief biography of the composer Nebojsa Jovan Zivkovic and the background of ILIJAS,and summarizes the style in which the work was written to deepen our understanding of its connotations.The second part is an analysis of the structure of all three sections and an exploration of its Creative approach,allowing marimba lovers to gain an in-depth knowledge of this work.Lastly,by combining and applying my skills in practice and the insights gained in performance,this paper studies and analyzes the techniques and difficulties in playing,hoping that they will serve as a reference for students who are learning to play the piece.
