The Flower Of Situation

From classical painting to contemporary art creation,the theme of flowers has always occupied a pivotal position in art history.Through combing the flower paintings,the author finds that the earliest flower paintings can be traced back to the painted pottery flower patterns of the Neolithic Age.However,today,flowers are still the favorite objects of expression of artists.Their works usually show the beauty of real flowers,express their attachment to flowers,and sometimes compare themselves with flowers.In analyzing the emotional expression of flower paintings in the contemporary context,the author finds that there are expressions of life consciousness in the flower paintings of Georgia O ’Keeffer and Damien Hirst.Luo Fahui and CAI Jin have sexual metaphors in their flower paintings.By combing the history of flower painting,the author has a deeper understanding of flower painting,and also realizes that there are more possibilities for individual creation.In contemporary art,media materials are not only artistic carriers,but also art itself.Fluid materials were born in this environment,and the characteristics of materials were thoroughly brought into play.In this paper,the author explores two fluid materials,acrylic fluid and alcohol ink,whose painting methods break through the established rules of traditional painting.The common form of acrylic fluid painting is to pour the paint on the canvas,and then use a hair dryer or other wind control tools to interfere with the picture;Alcohol-based ink paintings are made in a similar way.Compared to the finished product of fluid painting,the process of creation is more interesting,and the fluid painting highlights the charm of the material during the production process.At the same time,as a new way of painting expression,fluid painting has a lot of room for development.This paper consists of three chapters.The first chapter combs the development history of Chinese and Western flower painting.The second chapter elaborates the emotion conveyed in contemporary Chinese and Western flower paintings,mainly discusses the meaning of life and gender difference.The third chapter focuses on the metaphor and direction of flowers in my creative practice,which is also the focus of this paper,showing flowers in different situations.From the exploration of the application of fluid materials to the presentation of a series of works,the author’s love for natural flowers,the color experiment of flowers as images,and the concern and empathy for people’s situation in social environment derived from flowers are included.
