A Study On The Development Of The Successor Group Of Seal Carving In The Early Twenty-first Century

With the frequent cultural exchanges between China and the West,Western art concepts have been infiltrated into Chinese art,including seal carving art.This has greatly influenced both the aesthetic theory of seal carving and the expansion of the formal language of seal carving art,and to a certain extent has contributed to the development and leap of contemporary seal carving art.Against this background,the art of seal carving has developed better in the early 21 st century,and all types of seal styles have shown different charms in this period.The design of the seal surface also changed from the traditional calm beauty to the unrestrained beauty.At the same time,under the influence of a diversified world view,the elements that seal makers drew from became more diverse,so that all types of seals,including Han seals,Yuan vermilion seals,ancient seals,Ming and Qing school seals,bird and insect seal seals,Sui and Tang official seals,Song and Yuan escutcheon seals,and Qin seals,showed new developments and changes during this period.At the same time,a group of innovative seal masters emerged during this period,who studied and studied deeply to understand the essence of traditional seal carving,added the aesthetics and thinking of the new era to it,and combined tradition and innovation in an exploratory manner,thus forming their own unique artistic style.They have a large number of followers due to their professional strength and artistic level,which further enriched and enriched the development of seal carving art in this period,making it vibrant and energetic in the early twenty-first century.This paper analyzes and summarizes the seal carvers of the early twenty-first century by classifying them,investigating and studying their succession styles in seal carving exhibitions,and supplementing them with the seal carvers whose works are published in the Xiling Art Series magazine and the older generation of seal carvers selected from Han Tianheng’s Dictionary of Chinese Seal Carving Method,so as to grasp the development trend of various succession groups of seal carving in the early twenty-first century as a whole.We will explore the new development of contemporary seal carving creation in the context of the new era of culture.
