From the 18th century to the early 20 th century,there appeared in Guangzhou,China a kind of "non-central and western" "both Chinese and western" commercial special painting,namely export painting.Export paintings were sold to Western countries through the Maritime Silk Road.Its strong utilitarianism makes its artistic value neglected and thus not paid attention to by the mainstream of Chinese art history.However,its position in maritime exchange and trade in the Qing Dynasty cannot be underestimated,and it is also a witness of the cultural and artistic exchanges between China and the West,which is of great significance to promote the cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries.This paper takes Guangzhou exported figure painting in Qing Dynasty as the main object of study,focuses on the characteristics of commercial art under the cultural exchange between China and foreign countries,fills the blank of domestic research on export painting to a certain extent,and thus emphasizes that its artistic aesthetic value and historical value cannot be ignored.Export figure painting has realized the collision and integration of Chinese and foreign art earlier.Through a large number of literature studies and targeted analysis and research on its techniques and image expression content,it is also of extraordinary significance for the expansion and innovation of current figure painting techniques and content.In view of the special commerciality of export painting,it can also provide reference and thinking direction for the innovation of contemporary art and the development of commercial painting.In this paper,there are four parts.The first part,through the study of the social and historical background and development stage of the export figure painting,sorts out the overall trend of the export figure painting.The second part,from the analysis and study of the sales and transportation of export figure painting,explains the change of export figure painting export volume,sales network and the historical reasons for the "flowering inside the wall and fragrance outside the wall" of export figure painting.The third part,by combing and analyzing the subject matter of export figure painting,summarizes the artistic style of export figure painting,from the overall picture to the detail pattern drawing,focuses on the stylized characteristics of export figure painting.The fourth part mainly expounds the influence of export figure painting on both inside and outside.It reveals the overseas misinterpretation caused by the difference between Chinese and Western culture and the figure painting itself in the process of export.Finally,the author expounds the reference,thinking and inspiration of the export figure painting to the current commercial painting and the creation of later artists.In the communication and collision between traditional Chinese painting and Western painting,export figure painting not only reflects the inclusive and open characteristics of Oriental art,but also presents the aesthetic taste different from traditional Chinese figure painting.Its unique subject matter content is also a reflection of the social landscape of the cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries in Guangzhou in the Qing Dynasty.
