| The Chinese utensil compound constructions is a semantic construction that belongs to the category of utensils used in daily life and production,and the form is a modifier-noun structure.The existence and semantic richness of Chinese utensil compound constructions reflect the development of Chinese noun-object compound word constructions.In this paper,we study the diachronically changed of Chinese utensil compound constructions based on the Construction theory and the theory of qualia structure,and discuss them from the following five aspects.First,the basic understanding of Chinese utensil compound constructions.The definition of utensils is defined as "utensils used in daily life,production,etc." according to the existing research and dictionary interpretation;In the division of semantic levels,Chinese utensil compound constructions belongs to the lower and more specific category,according to the semantic level of Chinese utensil constructions,they are divided into double-component triple-component and multi-component.Second,the diachronic distribution of Chinese utensil compound constructions.In this paper,the phonological,semantic and structural distributions of the compound constructions of utensils in the monographs of the Middle Ages are described.In terms of phonology,we find that two-syllable utensil-compound word constructions were dominant from the Middle Chinese to the Modern Chinese period,and multi-syllable utensil-compound word constructions began to increase in large numbers until the Modern Chinese period,but they were mostly used on an ad hoc basis.In terms of the distribution of semantic levels,single reconstruction has always been dominant.In modern Chinese,the proportion of triple-constructions has increased,and there have been four or more constructions.In modern Chinese,the distribution pattern of modern Chinese has basically been maintained,and there are various prosodic patterns in the Chinese utensil compound constructions at the same semantic level.Third,the diachronic distribution of qualia structure of Chinese utensil compound constructions.Firstly,the development and changes of the qualia structure in the past dynasties are presented,and then further analysis and research are carried out through the case of container compound construction.In ancient Chinese,the number of Chinese utensil compound constructions that highlighted the constitutive role was the largest;The number of formal roles that have become prominent in the Middle Ancient Chinese is the largest.The semantic elements of formal roles have changed from the attribute elements of utensil in the ancient Chinese to the nature,internal attributes and color elements of utensil;In modern Chinese,the Chinese utensil compound constructions that highlighted the formal role still dominated,and added the semantic elements of the external decoration,and added the semantic elements of the components of the role;During the development of modern Chinese,the number of Chinese utensil compound constructions that highlight the telic role is the largest,highlighting the semantic elements of utensil such as its function,purpose and working mode.The research on the construction of container semantic utensil compound words reflects the changes in the realization of the qualia role in the past dynasties,including the changes in the syllables and parts of speech of the selected components in the word form.Fourth,the lexical schema and case study of Chinese utensil compound constructions.Abstract the word-formation schema of Chinese utensil compound constructions,and from the constructionalization,taking the Chinese "X+器" class of utensil compound constructions as an example and abstracting its construction system,we can find that there is a hierarchical system of Chinese utensil compound constructions.We also investigate the productivity of the sub-constructions related to "X+器" and find that the [X+器] predictability of the productivity of the "X+器" related subconstructions. |
