A Study On Korean Ahn Chang-ho’s Activities In China

Ahn Chang-ho is a representative figure of the Korean independence movement and is honored as the "Father of Korean national independence" in South Korea.His activities in China reflected the twists and complexities of the Korean independence movement,and his historical achievements left a glorious page in the history of the Korean independence movement.In his early years,Ahn Chang-ho created a new people’s association in South Korea,and traveled to the United States to establish the Korean National Association and the Heungshi Group,leading his compatriots to carry out the national independence movement.After Japan annexed South Korea,Ahn Chang-ho,who had desperate to China,tried to establish an independence movement base in the Korean-populated areas of northeast China.Among them,the opening of the independence movement base in Mishan County,northeast China,not only stabilized the local Korean life,but also laid the foundation for the further development of the Korean independence movement in the future.In order to unite the strength of the Korean independence movement,the Korean independence movement represented by Ahn Chang-ho promoted the establishment of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea in Shanghai,under which the Unicom Government and the Communications Bureau were set up to strive for effective communication with compatriots at home and abroad.At the same time,in order to obtain international assistance,Ahn Chang-ho organized a communication committee to actively contact the delegation of US parliamentarians to China,and sought sympathy and support for the Korean independence movement.The "Ideal Village" construction movement in the 20 s was an important part of Ahn Chang-ho’s independence movement strategy,and the construction of schools,hospitals,farms and other places in the "Ideal Village" was an attempt to make overseas Koreans form more stable settlements,thereby providing an economic basis for their political ideas.Ahn Chang-ho also founded Dongmyung College in Nanjing,China,to cultivate reserve talents for the Korean independence movement,and his educational ideas of "pragmatism,practice,loyalty,and courage" laid the foundation for the development of modern education in Korea.The "line of strength Formation" that Ahn Chang-ho held all his life advocated to improve the knowledge and moral level of the people through the revitalization of education and industry,to achieve economic prosperity,so as to realize the independence of the country and the nation,which was forward-looking and permanent,and to a certain extent promoted the development of the independence movement of South Korea.However,this reformed path of independence movement,ignoring the importance of armed struggle,is doomed to failure under the premise of the loss of national power.
