The Folk Narratives Study Of Chinese Country Films In The 1990s

Rural films have always been an extremely important film subject in our country.In the 1990 s,under the impact of marketization,globalization and mass culture,the rural films have changed obviously in the narrative,with an increasing commercial element,the comedy atmosphere dissipated,and the nostalgia plot strong.In order to adapt to the changes of the film market,the folk narrative in the film also presents new features.This thesis focuses on the country films in the1990 s,takes folk narrative as the research perspective,explores the folk narrative characteristics of this period and evaluates the value of folk customs presented in the country films in the 1990 s.The scope of film folklore is relatively wide,real folklore,reformed folklore and even "pseudo folklore" can be included in this research scope.Due to the inherent consistency between film and folk customs,film is inseparable from folk customs.The folk customs presented by country films in the 1990 s are more numerous and varied.The four forms of folk customs,namely material folk customs,social folk customs,spiritual folk customs and language folk customs,are presented in the film.The entanglements of folk customs become the internal origin of the plot of the film,and the folk customs become the clues of the film,connecting the plot and making the film more complete.Under the conflict between the old and new folk customs,three kinds of characters are formed:victims,progressives and laggards.The application of folklore also creates a different narrative space for the film,and creates a grand,elegant,simple,quiet or closed and depressed atmosphere.Folklore also becomes the reference of the object,humanistic feelings and special images in the film,which has a very metaphorical effect.The rural films of the 1990 s,aided by folk customs,gained overseas attention and praise,gained more profits in domestic and foreign markets,and helped most rural films become more artistic and avoid falling into clich é s against the backdrop of popular culture becoming mainstream.It can be seen that folk customs during this period were of great significance to rural films.Of course,there were still cultural value deficiencies,desire based production,and The lack of cultural identity and other issues deserve our attention and reflection.
