The Significance Of Gaochang Tomb Brick To The Calligraphy Creation Of Wei Stele

Since 1910,Gaochang brick annals have been unearthed one after another,which not only attracted the attention of cultural relics and calligraphy researchers,but also became the reference object of calligraphy creation.This paper first sorts out the excavation and publication of Gaochang tomb bricks,combined with the historical background of Gaochang tomb bricks,combs and elucidates the calligraphy historical significance of Gaochang tomb bricks,especially a large number of books but not carved.On this basis,starting from personal copying practice,this paper analyzes the characteristics of Gaochang tomb brick in terms of pen,structure and composition,and compares it with Wei tablet calligraphy,so as to find out the reference significance of Gaochang tomb brick for Wei tablet calligraphy creation.Finally,through the summary and reflection of personal creative experiments and graduation works,this paper explores the feasibility and problems of Wei stele creation with Gaochang tomb brick as the keynote.In order to explore another possibility besides the traditional "Jinshi flavor" mode of Wei stele creation,this paper tries to verify the value and significance of Gaochang tomb brick for contemporary calligraphers to create Wei stele calligraphy through personal experience.
