At present,the practice of psychological monitors in many colleges shows that psychological monitors play a positive role in promoting mental health knowledge,organizing psychological activities in classes,timely finding students who need psychological attention in reports,and guiding students to seek professional psychological counseling.The level of competence of the psychological monitors is an important factor to play the role of the psychological monitors and to carry out the class mental health education smoothly.In order to improve the competence of psychological monitors,in this study,on the basis of previous studies,combined with the latest situation of the psychological monitors work development,competencies model of psychological monitors for the new exploration,through literature analysis,open questionnaire survey,structured interview research methods,this paper preliminarily constructs the competency model of psychological monitors in college.Based on the preliminarily constructed model,a questionnaire on the competency of psychological monitors in college was prepared.Through the preliminary test of 1010 psychological monitors,the re-test of 529 psychological monitors and the formal test of 1267 psychological monitors,the items of the questionnaire were screened and modified,and the reliability and validity test was conducted to form a formal questionnaire.Then the questionnaire was preliminarily applied,and the relationship among empathy,self-efficacy and competency was discussed by testing 1612 psychological monitors.The main conclusions of the research were as follows:1、The competency model for psychological monitors in college includes five dimensions which are identification of role,communication and interaction,self mental states,occupational ethics,negative characteristics.2、The competency questionnaire for psychological monitors in college was composed of five factors and 35 items,The Cronbach’s coefficients of total questionnaire and the 5 factors ranged from 0.70 to 0.96;the test-retest reliability ranged from 0.65 to 0.90;the split-half reliability ranged from 0.64 to 0.93.The structural validity and empirical validity of the questionnaire are good.The reliability and validity of the questionnaire meet the requirements of psychometrics3、There was a significant positive correlation among empathy,self-efficacy and competency.Empathy and self-efficacy could significantly positive predictive effect on competency,and self-efficacy played a partial mediating role between empathy and competency.
