As an important part of professional degree graduate education,Master of Fine Arts(MFA)professional degree graduate education is responsible for the prosperity and development of China’s cultural undertakings and the training of high-level and applied art professionals.However,due to the short development time,immature training mode and other factors.the training quality of Master of Arts students needs to be improved,and there is still much room for improvement in professional practice ability.In order to understand the status quo of professional practical ability training of Master of Arts postgraduates and its implementation results,and find out the problems and deficiencies in the process of professional practical ability training of full-time Master of Arts postgraduates,this study takes the art design field as an example to carry out research.This study adopts mixed research methods.Firstly,it explores the development process of Master of Arts professional degree by text analysis,and analyzes the content elements of the relevant texts on the cultivation of practical ability of full-time Master of Arts professional in Shanghai;Secondly,291 valid data were collected by questionnaire to explore the quantitative characteristics of practical ability training of full-time Master of Arts in Shanghai.At the same time,following the principle of objective sampling and typical sampling,in-depth interviews were conducted with three groups: fresh graduates of Master of Arts,tutors and managers of Master of Arts.Finally,from the theoretical perspective of negotiation and co-governance,this paper attributs the problems in the process of cultivating professional practical ability of full-time art postgraduates in Shanghai.This study finds that there are many factors that influence the cultivation of professional practical ability of full-time master of art(art design field)postgraduates in Shanghai.At the level of training process,the main problems are as follows: lack of practical investigation in the selection of students,lack of practical teaching in curriculum teaching,substandard professional practice time,formalization of professional practice ability assessment and so on.Training conditions are mainly manifested in three aspects: unclear training responsibilities of tutors inside and outside the school,pessimistic construction of professional practice bases and insufficient teaching equipment.The attribution of the above problems is found: the goal value deviates,and the foundation of collaborative training is unstable;Lack of development momentum,and shallow willingness of each subject to invest in training;Individualized development is limited,and the internal driving force of ability formation is insufficient.Therefore,this study suggests that,at the macro level,the government should provide policy guarantee and economic support;At the meso level,industrial enterprises work closely with universities to export talents with high quality;At the micro level,individuals take the development of professional ability as the goal and actively participate in professional practice.
