| English reading ability is one of the important skills and objectives of primary school English.The level of reading ability affects the development of students’ English level to a certain extent.Reading is the main source of language input.Its value is not only to improving reading comprehension ability,but also to consolidating and expanding students’ vocabulary and promoting the development of listening,speaking,reading and writing ability.The concept of learning activity has brought an important influence on the English reading teaching in rural primary schools.However,most of the studies at home and abroad are applied to middle school reading and listening and speaking teaching,while there are relatively few empirical studies of English learning activity concept applied to rural Mongolian primary school students.Therefore,the author hopes that in this period of promoting rural revitalization,the interest of English reading and English of rural primary school students can be improved by using the concept of English reading activities.The study activity view adopted in this paper is proposed in the new curriculum standard,refers to the theme of the student meaning,based on discourse,comprehensive learning language knowledge and cultural knowledge,including learning understanding(perception and attention,acquisition and combing,generalization and integration),application practice(description and interpretation,analysis and judgment,internalization and application)and migration innovation(reasoning and argument,criticism and evaluation,imagination and creation)and so on three types.In his research,the author based the theory of activity,Crrasin’s input hypothesis and constructivism theory.In order to improve the English reading level and interest of sixth grade students in rural primary schools,the author puts forward two research hypotheses: 1.Application of based on learning activity view in English reading teaching can improve the English reading level of the sixth grade students in rural primary schools.2.Application of based on learning activity view in English reading teaching can improve the interest of rural sixth grade students in English reading.The author chose two classes of Grade 6 in a rural primary school in Hinggan League as the research objects,which are divided into experimental classes and ordinary classes.In the 22-week experimental teaching,the research method of mainly experimental teaching,supplemented by tests,questionnaires,and interviews,was used to test the hypothesis.After the experiments,the authors analyzed the data using Spss23.0.The test analysis results showed that after the experiment,the English reading scores of the experimental class and the general class showed 0.01 significance(F=24.097,p=0.000),P<0.05,and the experimental class> the ordinary class.Later,through the analysis of the questionnaire survey and interview,it was concluded that compared with the experimental class students in the parallel class,the experimental class students had increased their cognition in classroom participation,learning and thinking ability,discourse level ability,teachers’ preference for teaching methods,and their interest in English reading.Based on the analysis of the data,the following two main conclusions are drawn.First of all,English reading teaching based on learning activity view can improve the reading level of sixth grade students in rural primary schools.Second,English reading teaching and learning based on learning activity view can improve the reading interest of sixth-grade students in rural primary schools.Meanwhile,this study also has shortcomings,such as the author’s lack of research experience,small sample size and short time.Therefore,the author will make more efforts to further improve in future studies. |
