Study On Marriage Customs Documents Of The Zhuang In The Border Between Guangxi And Yunnan

On the basis of sorting out the folk documents of the Zhuang in the border between Guangxi and Yunnan,this paper intends to take the marriage custom documents as the starting point to study and analyze the marriage of the Zhuang.Through field investigation and research on the region where the document is located,this paper discusses the multi-ethnic exchanges and exchanges and social and historical changes along the border between Guangxi and Yunnan,and specifically explains the rich historical value contained in the document.Marriage custom documents are written information records of ritual,contractual and voucher nature as the establishment or termination of the marriage relationship between men and women.The appearance of the marriage custom documents of the Zhuang in the border between Guangxi and Yunnan has clarified the rights and obligations of both sides,providing written evidence for future disputes.In the past,marriage between men and women could be established only by obtaining the approval of both families and the public.In ancient society,women are in a subordinate position,so the marriage is very stable,and there is no need to write a document.However,in an uxorilocal marriage,the man is at risk of being abandoned by the woman,while the woman is at risk of the man doing nothing or running away from home.Therefore,it is usually necessary to write a document to provide an effective guarantee for the uxorilocal family.This is also the reason for the largest number of uxorilocal marriage documents.Through field investigation,it is found that the Zhuang in the border between Guangxi and Yunnan are popular in the form of uxorilocal marriage,which still accounts for a certain proportion.Located at the eastern foot of the Yunnan Guizhou Plateau,the border between Guangxi and Yunnan is a multi-ethnic residential area dominated by the Zhuang.Zhuang,Han,Miao,Yao,Yi,etc.blend and multiply here,creating a rich and colorful ethnic culture.The physical and geographical environment determines the material and cultural development of the Zhuang ethnic group living here.The border between Guangxi and Yunnan can be divided into different ecological areas in terms of landform.This paper focuses on the stone mountain ecological area and the earth mountain ecological area that form a document at the junction of Napo County and Funing County.The population bearing capacity of the stone mountain ecological area is small,and the land is sparsely populated.People’s choice of marriage is smaller,mainly intermarrying between the same village.The earth mountain ecological area has a large population carrying capacity and a dense population.People have more extensive and diverse choices in marriage.There was an early phenomenon of intermarriage between Zhuang Han and Zhuang Yi.However,with the development of the times,the emergence and increase of local ethnic intermarriage shows that the communication and integration among contemporary ethnic groups are accelerating.From the perspective of history,it reveals the marriage customs form from history to reality in this region,explains the marriage customs documents of the Zhuang in the border between Guangxi and Yunnan and the construction of the consciousness of the Chinese national community,and enriches the vivid cases of building the consciousness of the Chinese national community in the border multi-ethnic areas.From the perspective of ethnology and history,it reveals the marriage customs form from history to reality in this region,explains the marriage customs documents of the Zhuang ethnic group in the border between Guangxi and Yunnan and the construction of the consciousness of the Chinese national community,which enriches the vivid cases of the multi-ethnic settlement areas in the border areas to build the consciousness of the Chinese national community.
