| Mediation of people’s livelihood contributes to resolve interpersonal conflicts and build a harmonious society.Paying attention to the conflict talk in the mediation column not only deepens relevant research,but also helps mediators to better intervene in the management of conflicts and promote the orderly conduct of mediation.This research uses the conflict talk in people’s livelihood mediation column as corpus sources to establish a multi-modal corpus,examines the interactive structure of conflict talk,and analyzes the conflict management strategies of mediators and conflict parties.The thesis is composed of five chapters as follows:The first chapter is the introduction,which mainly explains the source and significance of this research,research content and object,research status and theory,and research design.Based on the review of previous studies on conflict talk and mediation conversation,this chapter introduces the theory of conversation analysis used in this paper and leads to the research questions of this study.The studies of conflict talk in the mediation column of people’s livelihood are presented in the chapter two.This chapter analyzes the basic sequence structure of the initial stage of conflict talk and the nested conflict in the multi-person context,examines the verbal characteristics of the strategic choice of the parties in the development stage of conflict,and probes into three types of the ending stage.Based on the analysis of the interaction structure of conflict talk,the third chapter makes a quantitative and qualitative analysis of the conflict management strategies of the parties and the mediator.This chapter points out that under the guidance of different expectation;the parties adopt four strategies to intensify the conflict,such as repetition,interruption,imperative strategy and accusing turn,while the mediator would mitigate the conflict with five strategies,such as the question strategy,the order strategy,moderating discourse markers,the referential strategy and information reconstruction.Meanwhile a comparative analysis of the use of different strategies is provided.Chapter four analyzes the nonverbal modes of conflict talk,mainly investigating the gesture and head movement in the mediation column,and analyzing the difference in the frequency of use of non-verbal modal resources between the parties and the mediator.The last chapter is the conclusion,in which the main findings and the shortcomings of this study are summarized. |
