The Study Of Chen Shi-xiang’s New Poetry Criticism Thought

Chen Shixiang is well versed in Chinese and Western literary theories.He not only put forward the theory of "China’s lyric tradition",but also had unique views on the criticism of new poetry.In this paper,Chen Shixiang’s monograph,selected translation documents,interviews,letters,memoirs and other materials are combined to systematically study Chen Shixiang’s new poetry criticism thought,and Chen Shixiang’s new poetry criticism thought is explained from five aspects: ideological origin,poetic form,poetic quality,poetic value and so on.Firstly,it analyzes the ideological origin of Chen Shixiang’s criticism of new poetry,including drawing lessons from China’s theoretical resources and western critical theories.Chen Shixiang was influenced by Zhuangzi’s philosophical views on nature,time and thinking in China’s traditional culture,and was inspired by Zhao Yuanren and Zhu Guangqian,the sages of the May 4th New Culture Movement in modern China.At the same time,Chen Shixiang also learned from western critical theories,including Coleridge’s poetics and Acton’s "New criticism".Secondly,it explains the poetic form theory of Chen Shixiang’s new poetry criticism,and analyzes the connotation and characteristics of "form without form" and organic structure.Chen Shixiang thinks that the ideal form of new poetry is a "form without form",which opposes stereotyped writing and expresses it more liberally with the rhythm of common language.Organic structure is the ideal structure pursued by poetry,which is characterized by the integrity of rhythm and the organic unity of content and form.Thirdly,it explains Chen Shixiang’s poetic theory of new poetry criticism,and analyzes the "texture" and metaphor concerned in Chen Shixiang’s new poetry criticism.Chen Shixiang reinterprets the "texture" and thinks that "Gesture" is beyond the texture;By explaining the connotation of metaphor,analogy with images and the principle of heterogeneity,this paper analyzes Chen Shixiang’s explanation of the ambiguity and philosophy of poetic metaphor.Fourthly,to explain Chen Shixiang’s poetic theory of new poetry criticism,the creator should stick to his own poetic perspective and express the "emotion" of poetry.Adhere to the poetic perspective.From the perspective of individuality and sociality,first of all,from the perspective of individuality,maintain an independent personality,which is the foundation of the poetry of new poetry,and on this basis,maintain the autonomy of creation.Secondly,from the social point of view,poets need to be conscious of their identity,actively join the WTO and get involved in writing.Chen Shixiang also expounded the "emotion" of poetry rooted in the poet’s subjectivity,and pointed out the characteristics and functions of the "emotion" of poetry.Fifth,explain the value of Chen Shixiang’s criticism of new poetry.This paper expounds the influence and value of Chen Shixiang’s new poetry criticism thought on the contemporary era from two aspects: the guidance of new poetry creation and the enlightenment to new poetry criticism.Chen Shixiang paid attention to the tradition of classical poetry and actively absorbed folk forms.Chen Shixiang’s criticism of new poetry also provided help and inspiration for the practice of contemporary poetry criticism.He put forward "sincere and concrete criticism",which is of guiding significance to the practice of modern and contemporary poetry criticism.
