A Study On Chen Li’s Poetic Art Of Playing Games

Chen Li’s poetry game is one of the best in the colorful contemporary poetry creation.Chen Li is one of the top ten contemporary Taiwanese poets and a typical representative of the new generation of Taiwanese poets,he is also a translator,essayist,critic,English teacher and so on.His poems are rich in images,varied in style,diverse in technique and diversified in art.The poetic games that often appear in Chen Li’s poems have become the characteristics of his poems.Therefore,this paper studies the poetic games from the historical context,language games and form games of Chen Li’s poems,this paper also discusses the disadvantages of excessive games in Chen Li poetry,which leads to the conclusion that poetry games should pursue meaningful forms.Chapter one explores the historical context of the poetry game in Chen Li from the historical background and Post-industrial society,as well as the influence of the new generation of poets on the creation and post-modern thought,to establish Chen Li’s poetry as a source of play with history,literature,and thought.The second chapter analyzes the language game of his poetry through the study of the fluidity of images,the multiplicity of images,the use of musical techniques and defamiliarization techniques.The third chapter probes into its rich and varied forms of play,analyzes its visual games,metrical games and stylistic games in detail,and explores the poet’s experiments and innovations in expanding the ideological space of poetry with the help of poetic forms.It explores the drawbacks and ways out of the game of poetry.Chen Li’s poetry has a rich and splendid style of game form,but it also reveals the drawbacks of excessive games,namely the lack of deep poetry,as well as the repetition and stereotyping of forms,and a really good poetry game should be compatible in form and meaning.In the context of contemporary society and human history,this paper selects and studies the art of play in Chen Li’s poetry,focusing on how the poet plays his poetry in terms of language and form,then explore the literary and cultural origins behind it,and try to find a balance for the current poetry game,in the pursuit of game techniques,but also the pursuit of meaningful form of the game.
