| Throughout the ages,there have been many painters who depict the subject of landscape painting,and each era of landscape painting has its own artistic characteristics,and today’s society has put forward new challenges for artists,and how to innovate color language in traditional subjects is a problem we face.All works that can use color to express specific artistic content have their own"color language",and each painter has his own color language,focusing on whether the color language of the painter’s work is innovative.Hockney’s traditional realistic landscape subjects have their own personal color language in contemporary times.Hockney’s landscape painting color language from the essence of color structure analysis has flat,abstract,symbolic characteristics,the flat collage of its color blocks conveys his feelings of the current era,different scenes are summarized into abstract characteristics of color block shape combination,excellent color matching has very distinct personal characteristics,full of color symbolism.By analyzing the color language characteristics of Hockney landscape painting,combined with the author’s research on the color language of landscape painting,this paper further understands the color language of Hockney landscape painting and applies it in self-practice.The structure of this article consists of three parts,the first part is to sort out the formation and change of the color language of Hockney’s landscape painting through a brief description of Hockney,taking Hockney’s personal painting experience as a timeline.The second part analyzes the color language characteristics of Hockney’s landscape paintings in conjunction with his work.The third part of the thesis is the specific practical part of the application of Hockney landscape color language in creation,which captures the characteristics of Hockney’s color language and reflects its formal characteristics from the surface to the inside in the creation. |
