The Application Of The Formal Language Of Hammershoi’s Oil Painting In The Practice Of Creation

The formal language in painting creation is the way for painters to express and transmit their own thoughts,feelings and spiritual feelings,which can be realized through composition,line,space,light and other picture elements,and the painter flexibly uses various elements to express the artistic ideas he wants to convey on the canvas,and gradually forms his own formal language characteristics after continuous artistic practice.The formal language of the artist’s oil paintings is prominent in his works,he uses cold gray tones to convey loneliness,the picture has an indescribable mystery,he consciously separates the world in the painting from the real world,and the space in the painting seems to have no time and emotion.The formal language characteristics of his works are very in line with the author’s aesthetic pursuit of creative practice,and the author studies the formal language of Hammershoi oil painting,which is of great benefit to his artistic exploration,and applies his formal language characteristics of oil painting to the author’s own creation,which plays a guiding role in exploring the formal language of oil painting suitable for individuals.By analyzing the characteristics of the formal language of Hammershoi’s oil painting,this paper applies the characteristics of the formal language to his own specific artistic creation,and makes a more detailed theoretical combing in combination with his own creative practice "Waiting for the Flowers to Blossom" series of works,which lays a good foundation for the author’s future artistic creation and development.The discussion of this paper is divided into three parts,the first part combs out the overview of Hammershoi,and discusses the subjective and objective reasons for the formation of his oil painting formal language.The second part summarizes the characteristics and significance of the formal language of his oil paintings;The third part analyzes the application of Hammershoi’s formal language in the creation of "Waiting for Flowers to Blossom".
