The Study Of Assassin’s Biography

Writing a biography for the "assassin" was regarded as a "rebellious" act in Historical Records,and later generations criticized him for "losing the meaning of the Spring and Autumn Annals",and attributed the motive of writing this biography to Sima Qian,expressing his indignation.At the same time,the differences in the records of the assassin’s biography in the relevant literature have caused later scholars to question and discuss the historical facts of the assassin’s biography,which is regarded as a "story" rather than a "historical fact".This paper intends to respond to the above controversy from three perspectives:the analysis of the author of The Assassins,the generation of the image of assassins and the purpose of writing biographies,and to reexamine the unique value of The Assassins in the tension between history and literature.The introduction includes the reason for choosing the topic,the research status and comments,the research methods and innovations,discusses the two major controversies involved in The Assassins,traces back to the discussion of the core issues in the academic circles in a thematic way,and outlines the academic background of the study of The Assassins.The first chapter starts with the author’s question and distinguishes the author of the biography,which is the cornerstone of the full text.Based on the analysis of the two old theories of "Sima Qian’s theory" and "Sima Tan’s theory",and with the help of "Shangshan Sihao",this paper reinfers the age distribution of Xia Wuqie,Gongsun Jigong and Dong Sheng,and introduces Sima Tan’s "posthumous writing theory"around the words of "Taishigongyue" in Assassins Biographies,and puts forward that the biography of Assassins Biographies should be based on Sima Tan,not on Sima Qian’s.The second chapter focuses on the historical sources of "Assassin Biographies"and Taishigong’s selection and polishing,which is divided into five sections according to the main biography,and the focus of discussion is different.In addition to the source of history,the relevant chapters of Zhuan Zhu,Yu Rang and Nie Zheng have added the perspective of acceptance of later novels.Based on the close relationship between the text of "Jing Ke Biography" and "Yan Prince Dan Zhi Yu Qin",the section of Jing Ke’s image is carried out by reading the two texts.This chapter responds to the controversy of the historical facts of "Assassin Biographies" from the perspective of diachronic literature reading,and explores the generation of assassin image in historical writing and its far-reaching impact on future generations.The third chapter expounds the purpose of the biographies of the assassins.The first two chapters,which discuss the discrimination of the author,the analysis of the historical source,the treatment of the historical data and the formation of the image,focus on dealing with the problems derived from the text.This chapter,based on the discrimination of the social and cultural identity of "assassins",bases on the arguments established in the first two chapters,and takes a general view of the description of assassins in Historical Records,reveals the dual intention of "Assassins Biographies" to describe history and local records.
