Abstract/Summary:
"Learned in literature" "Conduct Oneself with a Sense of Shame" are Gu Yanwu purpose of the learing and life,is the way for he to understood the sage.When discussing Gu Yanwu’s academic work,scholars will not ignore the Yu You Ren Lun Xue Shu.Most scholars have noticed that "Learned in literature" "Conduct Oneself with a Sense of Shame"are all from the Analects of Confucius.They focus on explaining the significance of Gu Yanwu’s linking two languages together for the first time to form a new academic purpose,while ignoring the close connection between Gu Yanwu’s academic work and the Analects of Confucius.In addition,scholars of the predecessors focused on the specific meaning of"Confucian classics is neo-Confucianism",but paid little attention to the significance of the Analects of Confucius for Gu Yanwu’s learning.In the Book of Shi Yushan:"Again,he said,’The Analects of Confucius’ are sayings of saints.’To abandon the sayings of the sage and engage in later Confucianism is to be ignorant of its origin." Obviously,Gu believed that the study of the Analects of Confucius is the learning of the original.However,Gu Yanwu did not make notes on the Analects of Confucius.Gu Yanwu’s views on the Analects of Confucius,his evaluation of Confucius and his disciples,his interpretation of the chapters of the Analects of Confucius and his responses to important issues in the history of the Analects of Confucius were mainly scattered in Rizhilu and Tinglin Corpus.Therefore,the author compiled the contents of the Analects of Confucius contained in Rizhilu and Tinglin Corpus.Anthology,and began to write the thesis based on them.This dissertation consists of six chapters.The first is introduction,which introduces the origin and significance of the topic,research overview,paper structure and research methods.The first chapter shows the characteristics of Gu Yanwu’s analects study in descriptive language.The second chapter is Gu Yanwu’s basic views on the Analects of Confucius,emphasizing the importance of the Analects of Confucius to Gu Yanwu’s scholarship,refuting Gu Yanwu’s view that "Confucian classics is neo-Confucianism" is the core of Gu Yanwu’s academic propositions,and showing Gu Yanwu’s study of Confucius,his practice and his teaching of humanistic transformation.The third chapter is Gu Yanwu’s understanding and evaluation of the disciples of Confucius,which is divided into Gu Yanwu’s evaluation of Yan Zi,Zeng Zi,Zi Sizi,Mencius,ten Philosophers and other disciples of Confucius.The fourth chapter is a response to the important issues in the analects of the past dynasties.It selects two important issues in the analects that Gu Yanwu pays attention to,namely "Learned in literature",“wenzhang”and "nature and providence" to discuss,so as to explore the characteristics of Gu Yanwu’s analects study.The last part is the conclusion.As the core academic work of Gu Yanwu,the Analects of Confucius systematically defines the important position of Gu Yanwu’s analects study in Gu’s academic work.Although predecessors put forward Gu Yanwu’s academic views such as the theory of classics,enlightenment,new neo-Confucianism,new benevolence and so on,some people think that "classics is neo-Confucianism" is Gu Yanwu’s academic purpose,these views have their own views,but not comprehensive.These views are only a part of Gu Yanwu’s scholarship,but do not investigate the root of Gu Yanwu’s scholarship.The author believes that the core ideological resource supporting Gu Yanwu’s academic work is the Analects of Confucius.He not only prescribed the basic interpretation orientation of the Five Classics with the Analects of Confucius,but also attached great importance to the political thoughts of "justifying the name","not suffering from poverty but suffering from inequality"and so on,and believed that the relationship between human relations in traditional society has eternal value and significance.Gu Yanwu attaches great importance to the content of Confucius’s theory of politics in the Analects of Confucius,and the "nature and providence",which the Confucius has not talked about,are attributed to the norms of human ethics under the form.Gu Yanwu emphasized "erudite" and took it as the criterion to judge whether it was the orthodox Confucianism.He cleared up the evils caused by the LuJiuyuan and WangYangming’s contempt for reading and writing,and went out with an academic path that was completely different from that of the People in Ming.In a word,as a sage’s sayings,the Analects of Confucius is of decisive significance to Gu Yanwu’s scholarship.
