| With 12 Chinese language styles,such as law,announcement,political comment,editorial,news,argumentation,expository writing,prose,interview,speech,novel,and script,as the dependent variable,and 32 language features that are significantly related to the degree of formality at the phonological,syntactic,lexical,and textual levels as the independent variable,a formality regression equation with a Goodness of fit of 0.869 is constructed with 17 language features as the independent variable.On the basis of exploring the hierarchical regression equation of Chinese style formality,the multi-dimensional analysis method is further used to analyze the characteristics of Chinese style.Summarize the 17 language features in the regression equation into 3 dimensions,namely the subjective stance of individuals in communication vs.objective stance,type description vs.precise information and general narrative vs.professional explanation;Analyze the dimensional differences between similar language genres based on their respective dimensions.The stylistic regression equation can effectively determine the stylistic tendency of a text.Using regression equations to study the differences in formality of different Chinese textbooks for foreigners,such as "Chinese","Boya Chinese",and"Communicative Chinese".The textbooks "Chinese" and "Boya Chinese" have a high degree of formality,located between prose and explanatory language styles,and the formality of language styles gradually increases at different stages;The formality of"Communicative Chinese" is close to the interview style in spoken language,and the formality is relatively stable and does not change with the changes of stages.Through the formal clustering analysis of the language style stage of the textbook,it can be seen that the trend of formal changes in the language style of the textbook is basically consistent with the trend of changes in the difficulty stage.Among them,the classification of language style stages in comprehensive textbooks is not synchronized with the difficulty stage,while the formal degrees of each stage of the language style in comprehensive Chinese textbooks are similar. |
