Research On Online Cross-cultural Communication Between Chinese And Foreign Youth From The Perspective Of Actor-Network Theory

Strengthening the construction of international communication capacity and promoting cultural exchange and dialogue with foreign countries is an inevitable requirement for continuously enhancing the influence of the dissemination of Chinese civilization and promoting cultural confidence and self-improvement.Cross cultural exchanges between Chinese and foreign teenagers are an important component of China’s efforts to enhance cultural exchanges and promote the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.Against the backdrop of the flourishing development of digital technology,online cross-cultural exchanges between Chinese and foreign teenagers are becoming increasingly frequent,with rich content and diverse forms of communication.Strengthening the research and exploration of online and cross-cultural communication between Chinese and foreign teenagers,improving the communication network system,is of great significance for promoting mutual learning and understanding between Chinese and foreign teenagers,innovating Chinese language expression,and promoting the construction of international communication capabilities.The article takes the theory of actor networks as the research perspective,uses participatory observation and in-depth interviews as the research methods,and takes the "Contemporary Chinese Youth Life" special training project for foreign youth students at S University as the research case.It analyzes the process of constructing actor networks for online cross-cultural communication between Chinese and foreign youth,explores the interactive behavior between various actors,and focuses on the translation process of core actors.And from the perspective of maintaining the network of online cross-cultural communication actors between Chinese and foreign teenagers,propose suggestions that are conducive to the development of online cross-cultural communication between Chinese and foreign teenagers,in order to provide reference for other online communication behaviors of Chinese and foreign teenagers,and promote the wider and deeper dissemination of Chinese culture on the international stage.This article believes that online cross-cultural communication between Chinese and foreign teenagers is a dynamic process involving multiple subjects such as organizers,Chinese and foreign teenagers,teachers,schools,parents,etc.Non human actors such as network technology play an undeniable role in online cross-cultural communication between Chinese and foreign teenagers,and even have a decisive impact on the effectiveness of communication.The key to the smooth development of online cross-cultural communication between Chinese and foreign teenagers lies in whether core actors can negotiate and reach consensus with other subjects,and successfully engage in translation actions such as problem presentation,benefit allocation,and mobilization.However,the dissent generated during the construction of the actor network can affect the stability of the actor network,and continuous optimization and maintenance of the actor network is the key to maintaining its network stability.Therefore,this article proposes the following three maintenance suggestions:firstly,to improve the policy system for ensuring online cross-cultural exchanges between Chinese and foreign teenagers,improve the cooperation mechanism between the organization,school,and parents,take teenagers as the main body,smooth research and training channels,and ensure the smooth development of online cross-cultural exchanges between Chinese and foreign teenagers;Secondly,to meet the needs of organizations,teenagers,parents,and other entities,and to build a network alliance of online cross-cultural exchange actors for Chinese and foreign teenagers;Thirdly,establish a dedicated platform for online and cross-cultural exchanges between Chinese and foreign teenagers,attract more actors to enter the network of online and crosscultural exchanges between Chinese and foreign teenagers,promote the in-depth development of exchanges between Chinese and foreign teenagers,and improve the quality of online and cross-cultural exchanges between Chinese and foreign teenagers.
