With the improvement of China’s international status, the number of people learning Chinese around the world continues to increase, requiring a large number of international Chinese teachers.More and more teachers have joined the team of spreading Chinese culture, many of whom are novice teachers who teach for the first time. These novice teachers have a high enthusiasm for teaching, but due to their lack of experience in teaching, they encounter some difficulties and setbacks in preparing lessons, classroom teaching, interpersonal communication, self expectation, and career development, and experience varying degrees of frustration.Frustration can in turn affect the quality of teaching and the good development of teacher-student relationships. In order to understand the level of frustration and resilience of novice teachers, this study conducted a questionnaire survey on 110 novice teachers engaged in international Chinese language teaching from the perspectives of lesson preparation, teaching, student evaluation, school evaluation, interpersonal communication, self expectation, and career development. The results show that the overall level of frustration among novice teachers is above the middle level, but there is a high level of frustration at the levels of lesson preparation, classroom teaching, self expectation, and career development.Personality, profession, and other factors have a significant impact on frustration.Based on the analysis of the results of the frustration resistance questionnaire,it is found that the frustration resistance ability of novice international Chinese teachers is also above the middle level. At the same time, the interview method was also used to interview four novice teachers to further analyze the frustration of novice teachers in the above eight dimensions and the resulting impact.Based on the survey and interview results, this paper proposes coping strategies for teachers to reduce frustration: novice teachers should adjust their mindset, actively face setbacks, and improve their sense of self identity;Continuously improve professional knowledge literacy and increase knowledge reserves;Continuously learn and improve various skills, including management ability, teaching ability, etc;Correctly handle interpersonal relationships with students and colleagues, and establish a harmonious working atmosphere;Adjust the level of self ambition and make good career planning, thereby reducing frustration among novice international Chinese teachers and strengthening their future career choices.
