| The pre-service training for international Chinese teacher volunteers has traditionally been conducted offline,but in 2020,online training was introduced for the first time.Following the renaming of the Confucius Institute Headquarters in June of the same year,adjustments were made to the training for volunteers in 2021 regarding the training provider and method,but various problems arose during the implementation process.In light of the current circumstances and the trend towards online training in the future,researching online pre-service training for volunteers is of practical significance and reference value.This study focuses on the online pre-service training for foreign language cooperation center volunteers in 2021,which the author participated in.After reviewing the research status and identifying the research gap,the International Chinese Teacher Volunteer Training Outline and the volunteer training situation from 2019-2021 are introduced.A comprehensive survey was then conducted on the online pre-service training for volunteers in 2021 through questionnaires and interviews,followed by a discussion of the problems that existed in the2021 training program in comparison with the outline and the training from 2019-2020 offered by Beijing Language and Culture University.Finally,specific improvement suggestions were proposed to address the issues,such as expanding the training providers,diversifying the training methods,strengthening organization and resource management,optimizing the training arrangement and content,improving training management and assessment,adding country-specific courses,and strengthening guidance for volunteers prior to their departure.These suggestions will help improve the quality and effectiveness of online pre-service training for volunteers,enabling them to better adapt to work and living environments,complete their work tasks more efficiently,and achieve better results before their departure. |
