Since the Fifth Session of the Seventh National People’s Congress in 1992 successfully passed the "Bill on the Construction of the Three Gorges Project on the Yangtze River," the work of resettlement of the Three Gorges has been carried out gradually. At the same time, the research on Three Gorges migration is also increasing, involving geography, migration, sociology, anthropology, disaster science and other disciplines, but most of the research mainly focuses on the capacity of migration environment, migration culture theory, resettlement planning, migrant community construction, migration social adaptation, etc.from a macro perspective, and there are few studies related to migrant folklore, and few studies analyze the change process and mechanism of Three Gorges migration folklore under the theory of folklore. From the perspective of folklore, this study attempts to present the folk activities and psychological adaptation of different types of immigrant groups before and after relocation through fieldwork on local migrants and case studies of relocation and anti-flow migration. The main field point of this article is the Xuefu Community in Wanzhou District,Chongqing City, which is a newly built community to meet the resettlement needs of Three Gorges Project and the management of the new city, and most of the migrants who have moved here are residents scattered below the 175-meter water line scattered throughout Wanzhou.Through the interviews and participation observations of several local immigrants in this community, the daily life of local migrants before and after relocation is displayed, and the changes in life etiquette, livelihood patterns, folk beliefs and entertainment methods of immigrants before and after relocation are comparatively analyzed. At the same time, based on the different types of migrants, this paper selects the case studies of migrant families who have moved out of their hometown but returned soon,to add more research on changes in folklore before and after migration. This paper first obtains an overall understanding of Wanzhou folk customs and the cultural background of migrants through the study of the folk culture of the Three Gorges migrants, which is conducive to grasping the evolution of the folk culture of the Three Gorges migrants.Secondly, this paper elaborates on the changes in specific folk customs such as life etiquette, livelihood mode, folk beliefs and entertainment methods before and after relocation of the Xuefu community migrants and the immigrants who have moved out of Wanzhou and returned. In this analysis, the differences and characteristics of folk activities between local migrants and returning migrants, and between local migrants and non-immigrants,as well as a series of laws of how migrants maintain the core part of culture and adapt to the place of migration in cultural changes have been summarized. Finally, through the research and analysis of the changes in the folk customs of migrants,we can see the spiritual and cultural part behind the folk customs activities that immigrants adhere to,which has certain enlightenment significance for future immigration work : when the government carries out relocation work,it needs to pay attention not only to economic compensation, but also to the customs and culture of migrants;Immigrants themselves should also maintain their identification with the "roots" of the original culture while continuously integrating into the resettlement area, which is an effective choice for practitioners to reconstruct the original culture in the new environment.
