Vocabulary is the foundation of language,also vocabulary teaching is the basis of English teaching.An excellent vocabulary foundation can make students yield twice the result with half the effort in learning English.According to the investigation,teachers’ vocabulary teaching methods cannot stimulate students’ motivation for vocabulary learning,and the efficiency of vocabulary learning is poor due to the heavy teaching tasks and other reasons.Based on this problem,the author proposes to introduce the multimedia assisted situational teaching method into senior high school vocabulary teaching,and taking into account the particularity of vocabulary teaching,designs vocabulary teaching in unit review class and reading class,and discusses whether it can strength the effect of students’ vocabulary learning and improve students’ vocabulary competence.On the basis of studying relevant literature and combining with practical teaching,the author mainly discusses the following three questions: 1.What are the difficulties of English vocabulary learning for senior high school students? 2.How to apply the multimedia assisted situational teaching on English vocabulary? 3.What is the impact of using multimedia assisted situational teaching method on students’ English vocabulary competence?The author selected a senior one class in a high school in Harbin as the research object and conducted a 12-week teaching research.The process is as follow: First,the author investigated the vocabulary learning of the experimental class,then tested the reliability and validity of the questionnaire using SPSS23.0 data analysis software;Secondly,the author applies the multimedia assisted situational teaching method in vocabulary teaching,vocabulary pretest and post tests were conducted before and after the experiment,then Compared test scores using SPSS software.Finally,the author interviewed 9 students with different test scores to find out whether the multimedia assisted situational teaching method can help students in vocabulary teaching and whether it can improve their interest in vocabulary learning.By comparing the results of the pretest and post test of vocabulary in the experimental class,it is found that the post test results of vocabulary in the class have improved significantly,and the study found that the use of multimedia to create a context for vocabulary learning can help solve the problem of high school students’ vocabulary difficulties,but also improve the participation and enthusiasm of students in vocabulary learning,multimedia resources are conducive to students’ acceptance aspects,so as to improve efficiency of vocabulary learning.Therefore,teachers can change the concept of vocabulary teaching,try to accept innovative teaching methods,and create a teaching environment conducive to students’ learning.In short,as an innovative teaching model,the multimedia assisted situational teaching method is effective in the teaching of English vocabulary in senior high school.
