| The thinking quality has earned much attention with it being listed as the core quality of the English discipline,which not only conforms to the requirements of the times for education reform,but also meets the need to enhance the international competitiveness of Chinese education.The thinking quality refers to the people’s thinking performance in intelligence,which is embodied in the logic,criticality,creativity,and other characteristics of people’s thinking activities,and which is the manifestation of the core quality of the English discipline.The arrival of the era of artificial intelligence has upgraded the English reading class.With the help of intelligent technology,the combination of technology and English reading teaching can be truly realized.As a tool of thinking,language is closely related to the development of thinking quality.Therefore,students can not only learn language knowledge effectively in the English reading smart classrooms,but also study in real teaching environments with the technical advantages of smart classroom.Smart reading classroom is the main base that cultivating students’ thinking quality.In this study,the students of grade 2 in a senior high school located in Harbin were selected as the research object.A questionnaire was randomly distributed to 300 students and their performance in class was observed.On this basis,the author also conducted interviews with five front-line English teachers to supplement the results of the questionnaire.This study attempts to answer the following two questions: First,what is the current situation of the cultivation of students’ thinking quality based on the senior high school English reading smart class,and what are the reasons for the situation?Secondly,based on the English reading smart class,how should teachers design the teaching process to improve students’ thinking quality?The results show that: first,students pay more attention to learning more language knowledge through reading,but do not pay too much attention to the development of their own thinking quality.In addition,some English teachers do not realize that the level of students’ thinking quality plays a decisive role in the development of their language ability,so they often ignore the logic and ideas contained in a text when teaching.At the same time,after analyzing the questionnaire results,classroom observation data,and teacher interview results,it is found that the main reasons for this situation are the lack of attention to the thinking quality,the shortage of time,the single teaching goal,and the solidification of teaching mode.Secondly,on the basis of sorting out the literature and analyzing the data results,we can explore the teaching process from three dimensions: before class,during class and after class.Before the start of teaching activities,teachers can use their smart platform system to master students’ learning performance,integrate teaching resources,and design a classroom that is more in line with students’ thinking development.In the process of English reading teaching,teachers should actively play the advantages of intelligent teaching equipment,enrich the diversity of teaching activities,and develop students’ thinking in diversified reading activities.After the completion of teaching activities,teachers will deliver different learning resources to different students according to their performance in class,which will help students consolidate their own knowledge system.The innovation of this study is to analyze the reasons for the cultivation of students’ thinking quality in the English reading smart classroom by investigating,and exploring the procedures for cultivating their thinking quality.And I hope that the investigation can give some teaching advice to front-line English teachers to cultivate students’ thinking quality in the English reading smart classroom. |
