| I am an Egyptian international student,and during my study,I found that due to different cultures,there are significant differences in taboos between China and Egypt,and some Egyptian students’ Chinese teachers do not have sufficient knowledge of Arabic taboos and Egyptian culture..Many Egyptian students have similar learning experiences."We have consulted the literature in China and have not found any research on Egyptian Arabic taboos.".At present,the academic community has paid more attention to Chinese taboos and English taboos,as well as to the study of taboos in Japan,South Korea,Thailand,and other countries.However,most of the research focuses on the perspective of word comparison,and there are few applied studies combining Chinese learning and teaching.Therefore,this article focuses on the study of taboos in Chinese and Arabic used in Egypt for investigation,comparison,and related application research.This study mainly consists of five parts.Firstly,it combs and analyzes previous studies,explores the feasibility and necessity of comparative analysis of taboos in Egypt,and determines specific research directions and ideas;Secondly,it elaborates the classification of Chinese taboos and Arabic taboos,and examines the common expressions of taboos with examples;Thirdly,based on the classification of Chinese and Arab taboos,combined with the common expressions of Chinese and Arab taboos,this paper makes a comparative analysis of the similarities and differences between Chinese and Arab taboos,and explores the cultural differences reflected by the differences between Chinese and Arab taboos through the comparative analysis results;Fourth,a questionnaire survey was conducted to investigate Egyptian students and Chinese language teachers,examining their understanding and use of Chinese taboos,summarizing the problems existing in Egyptian students’ understanding and use of Chinese taboos,and sorting out the shortcomings of Chinese teachers in Chinese language teaching;Finally,combining the results of comparative analysis,questionnaire survey,and related theories,we explore the implications of the comparison and survey results of this article for Chinese language teaching and cross-cultural communication.I hope that the relevant research in this article can provide reference for the teaching and use of classroom taboos for teachers,deepen students’ understanding of the taboo cultures of the two countries,and provide reference for Chinese language learning and cross-cultural communication for Chinese and Egyptian international students. |
