By the mid-18th century,Guangzhou,China,as a trading port for foreign trade,gradually became a gathering place for foreign businessmen,missionaries,and other Western people;The continuous prosperity of Guangzhou’s commercial economy has promoted people’s demand for cultural aesthetics,and foreign investors’ love for the local customs and traditions of their destinations has led to the emergence of a large number of Chinese style orders for painting and art industry economies abroad.This makes local and foreign painters in Guangzhou start to contact order painting,learn the realistic techniques of Western painting,and integrate them with local painting techniques to express the real local customs and customs in order to make a living in Guangzhou.Over time,the style and techniques of this type of painting gradually stabilized and were sold to the West,becoming an important member of the export products at that time.This article mainly analyzes the historical background,studies and elaborates on the concepts,types,painters,characteristics,and sales methods of export paintings,and summarizes the functional value and social impact of export paintings.The full text is divided into:Chapter 1 explores the historical background of the emergence of the "Thirteen Elements" export painting,from several times when the Qing government closed the country to later opening up commercial ports,as well as the analysis of the situation of national trade ports,in order to understand the prerequisites and conditions for the emergence of export painting.The second chapter elaborates on the types of "Thirteen Elements" export paintings and the basic overview of painters,and comprehensively discusses the occurrence and development of export paintings by sorting out the artistic characteristics of export paintings,types of export paintings and their painters,and the cultivation of export painters.The third chapter further combs the production and sales regions of the "Thirteen Elements"export paintings,analyzes the production methods,sales models,demand channels and sales regions of the export paintings,and explains the reasons and ways for the export painters to contact Western painting.Chapter 4 sorts out the themes of export paintings,conducts in-depth research and analysis on the types of themes such as landscapes,figures,markets,flower and bird paintings,oil painting replication,and product production process maps,and explores their functions and artistic value.Chapter 5 focuses on analyzing the aesthetic impact and function of export paintings,emphasizing their cultural impact,social function,and sales significance in overseas trade.The article is based on history and conducts research on the occurrence and development of Guangzhou’s "Thirteen Elements" export paintings,providing reference for the case study of the integration of Chinese and Western cultures in late Qing art in Chinese art history.In the context of cultural exchange between China and the West during this period,export paintings were extensively painted in China,reflecting the value of export paintings and their significance in leading Lingnan art. |
