Application And Study Of Symbolic Animal Representation In Painting

With the title ’Latitude’,I understand the material world of human and animal existence from an objective latitude on the one hand,and the subjective latitude of animals mapping the human psyche on the other.From the subject matter of animal images,I intend to build personal form of painting expression.In studying how famous artists such as Redon,Chagall,Zhu Da,Xu Lei gave the symbolic of animal images in their paintings,I was inspired to analyse the humanistic thoughts of them,and to combine what I felt and thought to construct personal artistic language of animal images,to better serve painting theory and creation.This paper starts with the symbolic meaning of animal images in painting.Chapter 1 introduces the concept of "symbolism" and focuses on the lineage of exploring the symbolic animal s in painting,forming a specific research framework through its characteristics and humanistic ideological significance in painting;Chapter 2 lists the works of famous Chinese and Western artists such as Redon,Chagall,Zhu Da and Xu Lei to explore symbolic animal images,analyzing their symbolic expression from the perspective of religion,culture and painting,providing a theoretical direction for one’s thesis and creation;the analysis of the selection of animal images,composition and colour in the Latitude series,and personal reflection on the symbolic meaning and development trend of animal images in contemporary painting,etc.,the difficulties encountered in the process of creative practice and their solutions,the value,meaning and reflection of the works The work is summarised in Chapter 3 with an analysis of personal reflections.I compare the symbolic animal of famous artists,analyses them and then internalises them to broaden artistic connotation of animal images,not only opening up creative thinking in painting,but also enriching spiritual home.The thesis illustrates the symbolic expression and application of animal images in personal painting,such as the selection of animal images,modelling,brushwork,composition and colour,etc.Through the animal image of the horse,the work uses symbolic techniques in the language of painting to express the spiritual pursuit of self and society,thus constructing a personal This is a personal form of painting.I analyse the spiritual connotations expressed in the Latitude series from both personal and public emotions,good paintings are not only for visual appreciation,but also for deeper thought.
