Jazz drum is a widely used modern percussion instrument and the most unique and essential component of modern music Its origin is long and can be traced back to the end of the 19th century The first recording using a complete modern jazz drum configuration was born in Chicago in 1923 The drum has played an important role in various kinds of jazz concerts in the 21st century,and even in modern jazz concerts As a percussion instrument,the main task of jazz drum in the band is to pave the music mood while playing the music speed Drummers should master the rhythm of jazz drums Among the many rhythm types,one type of rhythm is loved by many drummers-that is,odd continuous rhythm,such as triple rhythm,pentatonic rhythm and septal rhythm.Pentatonic is a very common rhythm type,which is suitable for the basic rhythm of jazz drum and the flower filling of j azz drum.Because odd beats give people irregular rhythm and movement,the skills of odd beats are different in many new music styles The use of different odd beats has also developed their own rhythm system This paper will focus on the application of pentatonic in modern style electroacoustic bands,the use of funk music,Middle East music and neo soul music,and how to use pentatonic to cause laid back effectTo sum up,it is necessary for modern drummers to master the use of odd beats and complex beats.Learning to understand and use this skill scientifically can enable drummers to adapt to a variety of different music styles and cooperate with more band forms...
