An Analysis Of Finger-shaking Techniques And Application In Pipa Playing

The richness of the technique,the special timbre and the variety of styles of playing are all important components of the pipa art.The variety and diversity of playing techniques is one of the characteristics of the pipa art and has become an important area of study in the pipa art.The unique effect of the pipa’s overtone technique on the music is one of the most important and irreplaceable of all pipa techniques.This thesis explores the different styles and types of overtone technique used in the pipa,firstly by summarising several forms of overtones,and then by analysing the characteristics of overtones in the pipa and the artistic features of overtone technique.Finally,the importance of the unique acoustic effects of overtones to musical works is summarised.
