The Urban Writing In Tie Ning’s Novels

It has been more than 40 years since Tie Ning’s novel creation began in 1975 and was noticed by the literary world with the publication of O Xiangxue in 1982.In the past 40 years,Tie Ning has worked hard and created many popular works.City,the inspiration for Tie Ning’s creation,also appears frequently in her novels.This paper takes Tie Ning’s urban novels as the research object,studies the space-time construction of the city,the life of individuals in the city,dilemmas and breakthroughs,and systematically analyzes Tie Ning’s urban writing.The construction of urban time by Tie Ning can be divided into two parts: urban history writing and daily life.Her writing on urban history reveals the urban landscape of different ages,especially in the period when the city became a "big factory" in literature after the foundation of the country.She stands outside the historical scene and fills the vacancy of secular life except political struggle and industrial construction.The writing of daily life is divided into two parts,the daily writing of the current city and the historical city,and the daily writing of the special historical period gives the daily legal status.In terms of space construction,Tie Ning expresses her understanding of the city through public spaces such as streets and consumption places.Then she focuses on the private space,and pays attention to the spiritual changes of people in the city through the changes of the geographical space.In the writing of urban individuals,when the city develops rapidly,Tie Ning chose to look back and pay attention to the psychological trauma of those who were persecuted in the political movement and could not keep up with the development of the times,the psychological gap of those who lost the "power bonus",and the loss of individuals who lived in the collective for a long time after the dissolution of the collective.At the same time,she describes the difficult existence and spiritual alienation of people,and the life of rural people who come to the city for different reasons.In the long-term writing of the city,Tie Ning falls into the dilemma of reflecting the city life with the method of documentary,and repeats the writing of goodness.The poetic character revealed in the rural writing gradually disappears in the city writing,but at the same time,Tie Ning’s writing of Beijing realizes a breakthrough in the current urban literature faced with the lack of regional attributes.
