Gan Dawen,who’s pen name is Gan Zhexian,was a scholar in the early 20 th century.And his academic research involved many fields,including Chinese philosophy,Western philosophy,classical literature,aesthetics,history and so on.In his published articles,there were current affair reviews while some papers.The current affair reviews focused more on issue about self-cultivation and culture movement and so on,while his early papers focused on social politics and classical literature.After 1924,his paper’s issue tended to be history and philosophy,focusing on philosophical research.Gan Dawen ‘s interpretation of Guan Xue was written in the mature period of his academic research career,which was reflected in the series of papers “Feng Shaoxu’s Philosophy” published in 1923-1924,and Hengqu in the series of papers “Dai Dongyuan’s Views on the History of Logic” and the comparison between them.From the perspective of Chinese philosophy,this paper examined Gan Dawen’s research results on Hengqu and Shaoxu’s thoughts on the premise of fully understanding Gan Dawen’s life experience,Gan Dawen’s social relations,and academic research directions and methods.and This paper analyzed Gan Dawen’s research methods and characteristics,compared Gan’s uniqueness in a specific historical context horizontally,vertically compared the advance and innovation of Gan’s thought,and compared the similarities and differences between Gan’s thought and the latest modern research results.This explored the significance and limit of Gan Dawen’s academic thought research results.At the same time,from Gan’s research results of Guan Xue thought,this paper drew out the thinking of traditional academic research and transformation,and proposed a bold analysis and interpretation.Concerning Guan Xue,Gan Dawen interpreted the thought of traditional Chinese scholars from a philosophical perspective,based on the favor of Chinese traditional culture.And he explained the thoughts of Hengqu and Shaoxu by using the concepts of Logic,Aesthetics,and Exhaustiveness,through the method of induction and comparison,clarify the environment and background of scholars(family environment,friend relationship,relationship between teachers and students,etc.).As Chen Yinque’s ‘sympathetic’understanding of the ancients.Although Gan’s academic research results are rarely known now,the existence of things must own its enduring value and significance.After years of baptism,examining Gan’s thought from a new and modern perspective finds that it is not outdated,and is helpful to answer the question of how to better interpret and construct Chinese philosophy.On the one hand,this paper attempted to respond to the problem of the development path of Chinese philosophy by discussing the individual cases of scholars in the Republic of China,and found a methodology that can be used for reference from historical issues;In the face of the situation that Western philosophy was introduced into China,how did traditional Neo-Confucianism enter into the construction of the history of Chinese philosophy.At the same time,I’m thinking about how Neo-Confucianism transforms from the traditional form to the philosophical problem.
