A Study Of Network Color Words Of Lipsticks

This paper analyzes nearly two thousand color words of lipsticks which collected on the Internet.Network color words of lipsticks are divided into three categories based on the characteristics of suffix and the strength of color expression;which are typical color words,atypical color words and contextual color words.In this paper,we discuss their semantic combination,the methods of word structure,semantic characteristics,functional characteristics,reasons of appearing and development trends.We also discuss some phenomenon and give some suggestions finally.In terms of semantic combination,the combination of network color words of lipsticks is complicated,and there are many different semantic types.In addition to describing the color characteristics,they also describe the look,temperament and character of people.In terms of the methods of word structure,network color words of lipsticks draw on the previous methods of modern Chinese but they are innovative.Not only one structure method is used,but a variety of construction methods are used in combination.In terms of semantic characteristics,network color words of lipsticks are objective and the connotative meaning is more than conceptual meaning form interior view.Sometimes the semantic collocation may be confusing and contradictory.From the external point of view,they are subjective and vague.Network color words of lipsticks have its own peculiar and cosmopolitan character.They are also directional and suggestive.In terms of functional characteristics,from the perspective of linguistics,they refine the expression of colors and arouse people’s curiosity about colors and lipsticks,and promote consumers’ desire of shopping.From the commercial perspective,they have the fashion timeliness but can attract people’s attention.The reasons of appearing need to be studied from internal and external perspectives.The analogy mechanism of vocabulary and the need of expression promote the emergence of network lipstick color words from the perspective of linguistics.The development of society,human psychological factors and network itself also promote the emergence from other perspectives.In terms of development trends,network color words of lipsticks have developed,abstractively associated,novel and targeting trends.However,the syllables of words may too long and the forms are arbitrary.Semantics may very vague at the same time.Therefore,it’s necessary to consider the balance of linguistic and business rules to develop more healthily in the process of development.
