| With the comprehensive development of China’s economy,science and technology,Vietnam,like other countries,has also set off an increase in learning Chinese.In order to meet the desires of a large number of Chinese learners,a variety of Chinese training centers of different scales have been set up in Vietnams’ Ho Chi Minh City.At present,the Chinese language centers cover a wide range and are located almost everywhere in Ho Chi Minh City,this allows learners to have more choices.The quality of teaching in some of these centers has won the trust of many intellectuals and maintained their reputation throughout the many years.There are many criteria considered for evaluating a foreign language center,among which students pay more particular attention to these three factors: the faculty,the quality of courses and training,and the application of modern technology in these centers and as such these are the few main reasons why many students select which foreign language center to enroll into and learn Chinese.The enhancement of the teaching level of teachers and also the upsurge in the number of Chinese language training institutions are welcome signals for Chinese language education.Generally although Chinese teaching in Ho Chi Minh City has made significant progress over the years,there is still some room for development.Taking the foreign affairs CEFALT foreign language center of Ho Chi Minh City as an example,this paper investigates,analyzes and summarizes the center by means of questionnaire,telephone interview and document research.Through the collected information and data,we can draw a conclusion that although the teaching of Chinese Language Center in Ho Chi Minh City can meet the requirements of social use of Chinese,there are still some limitations that affect the results of Chinese language teaching,such as the lack of localization of teaching materials,the need to strengthen the teaching team and teaching management,etc.In view of these problems,combined with the geographical environment,economy,education and other characteristics of Ho Chi Minh City,this paper puts forward some suggestions,hoping to provide effective reference for the teaching development of CEFALT Foreign Language Center,so as to further improve the teaching program and promote the smooth development of Chinese teaching. |
