Design Of Cultural Auxiliary Book Of J Ourney To The West For Intermediate And Advanced Chinese Learners

With the continuous achievements of the international promotion of Chinese in recent years,the number of students studying Chinese in China is increasing.At the same time,the scale of Confucius Institute is gradually expanding overseas,providing sufficient teachers and a good learning environment for Chinese learners.However,only relying on classroom teaching cannot fully meet the needs of Chinese learners in learning Chinese and Chinese culture.Therefore,it is necessary to compile a number of high-quality extracurricular cultural books,which will contribute to the international promotion of Chinese.Among the numerous Chinese cultural classics,this paper selects Journey to the West,which is one of the four famous works in China,and is committed to compiling a high-quality cultural auxiliary book that meets the readers’ reading interests and needs.Journey to the West is an important part of Chinese traditional culture.It is not only full of profound historical and cultural details,but also a classic masterpiece with high popularity in China and the most widely spread abroad.With the cultural globalization and the diversified development of media,the overseas communication process of Journey to the West is also accelerating,which provides a great impetus for the design of cultural auxiliary book of Journey to the West.Firstly,this paper analyzes the reasons for the topic selection from two aspects:the importance of Chinese cultural readings and the success of overseas dissemination of Journey to the West,and makes a summary of the research on related issues in academic circles,including cultural textbooks and readings for teaching Chinese as a foreign language,culture of Journey to the West,teaching Chinese as a foreign language of Journey to the West.This paper mainly selects six parts of the culture of Journey to the West,including Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism culture,Chinese medicine culture,food culture,festival culture,folk belief culture,idioms and allegorical sayings.This paper introduces and explains the culture of each part,and attaches the corresponding abstract of the original text for the preparation of cultural reading books.Then it is the research on the design of the cultural auxiliary book of Journey to the West,which mainly expounds the way of compiling the reading book.This paper puts forward the general idea of the design of the cultural book from the macro level,explains the arrangement of the book from the micro level,and designs two examples of the cultural book.Then it is the evaluation of the use effect of the auxiliary reading samples of Journey to the West.The author sends the questionnaire to the intermediate and advanced Chinese learners online to get their reading feedback for comprehensive evaluation.Finally,this paper systematically combs and summarizes the research contents,reflects on the limitations of this study,and puts forward specific suggestions for improvement.The innovation of this paper is to combine the book of Journey to the West with the cultural dissemination of Chinese as a foreign language,and compile a cultural auxiliary book which enriches the essence of Journey to the West,while promoting China’s classic traditional culture,and also provide new ideas for the compilation of cultural readings and the promotion of Chinese culture abroad.
